What usually happens is that when they painted the wall brown, the rest of furniture has to have the shades of brown as well. This can be very boring. However, you can also turn it around easily. If your room has one color with different shades, you can pick a color that is in complete contrast of the color you have. You can use the color wheel for this. Look for your color in the wheel. Opposite to it is its color contrast.

• You can add furniture with modern look. Aside from the modern wall art, you can also add furniture, which have modern inspiration. You can add a chair for more sitting, a side table, or replace your traditional coffee table.

When trying to achieve a modern look, you do not have to change everything. You can choose the current items you have and add some modern artwork or accessories. You can make few purchases though, but you do not have to replace everything in the room.
