What most people don't understand is that a bulk of the weight is actually just water retention. Your body is retaining more water than it really needs. Not only is that adding weight on the scale, but it's also adding the rolls around your waist!
If you want to quickly and easily take the first 3 inches off of your waist, here are three things to quickly start doing.
1. Stop Eating Salt
Salt naturally retains water. The next time you're about to have your meal and you feel like sprinkling extra salt on the food, don't.
Giving up salt can immediately show its effect on your body's water retention.
2. Stop Eating Sodium
Fast food has tons of sodium, which is really the same thing as salt. This is the biggest reason to stop eating fast-food or eating out.
In other words, fast food and restaurant food is obviously high on salt and sodium. Frozen foods can also have a lot of preservatives, which includes salt and sodium.
3. Drink More Water!
Ironically, the easiest way to get FREE of water is to DRINK more! Your body will naturally feel like it does not need to retain more water and will start releasing it.
You will definitely need to urinate much more often, but that's a good thing! You're getting rid of the excess water. Also, the clearer your urine is, the better it is.
Make sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
The above three tips will immediately help you start losing weight and directly losing inches off of your waist line. But if you want to continue losing your belly fat and working towards a flat six pack abs, there are many other nutritional and fitness exercises to start doing.
Lose Inches Off Your Waist
So what is this simple "exercise" I'm talking about? It's the "Vacuum Pose".
All you do is suck in your stomach like a vacuum and hold really tight. Make sure though that you BREATHE! You don't want to hold your breath in this position. The idea is to pull your belly button in (tightening your abs) as if you were trying to reach your back.
It can be done when you're standing or sitting, when you're waiting for commercials to be over or while you're surfing the net. It's so easy that you can even do it in public! Try it when you're making your daily commute or even when waiting in line - practically anywhere.
Doing this easy "exercise" contracts your abdominals and tones the muscle causing you to lose inches off your waist! It keeps oxygen-rich blood and essential nutrients flowing to your abs every time you "suck in". It also forces you to have correct posture by straightening your back, which will make you look taller, stronger, and more confident.
So here's the routine to lose inches off your waist - FAST!.
Suck in the mid section of your stomach as much as you can making sure to keep your shoulders down and breaths nice and even. Hold this position anywhere between 15-60 seconds. (Tip: Try this while you're waiting for the water to boil.) The longer you can squeeze the muscle the better. Relax your muscles and take a few deep breaths for about 30 seconds and repeat. Try this for a total of 5 minutes throughout your day for a total of 30 days and you will feel a loss of around an inch and a half from your waist.
If you want more dramatic results, like 3-inches lost from your waist, do this "Vacuum Pose" for 15-20 minutes a day or as much as you want! This shouldn't be too difficult as much waiting around as we have to do these days. Even at a traffic light or in rush hour, DO IT! Make it a fun game! See how much you can get done before you make it home. I bet you won't fall asleep behind the wheel and you won't be so annoyed by the snail-paced traffic. Make sure to pay attention to the road though; I don't want you to cause a wreck.
Doing this exercise on a daily basis will help with more than just toning your abdominals and flattening your tummy. It will make you look healthier, stronger and more confident and it will keep your stress levels low by focusing your mind on something positive and constructive. Before you know it, you will SEE how this quick exercise caused you to lose inches off your waist fast!
