Speed dating is going from strength to strength as it becomes a popular way of finding a partner, making friends and having fun. Those who hate having to sit through endless boring evenings with people with who you have nothing in common find speed dating to be an excellent way of meeting new people, gaining confidence and learning how to attract and seduce potential partners from the moment they step into the room.

At the end of each event the speed daters provide the organizers with a list of participants who they would like to be provided with their details. Contact details cannot be exchanged during the initial meeting between the speed daters which avoids undue pressure on individuals and totally eliminates the possible embarrassment of having to tell someone they aren't for you.

Studies have concluded that first impressions are usually correct and that the speed dating concept, which offers just a few minutes for participants to make a decision, is well grounded. Others condemn speed dating, considering it to be more in keeping with the animal world.

Whatever the scientific opinions, it has to be said that speed dating is gaining popularity and taking many major cities by storm. It certainly has many advantages over other dating methods especially for those who lack confidence, have limited time, hate long dull evenings, like to meet lots of new people or just want to find that perfect match as quickly as possible.
