Think proceeding to a Wal-Mart and instead of a car or pickup with a revolving orange light on top a low robot scurries across he parking lot with an orange hat. As it affects it leaks out water on the ground, not very much, but just sufficient to looking like it is leaking a little. What is that water trail? It is vapor or exhaust, the exhaust of a fuel cell moving an electric motor. The Robot video tapes the parking lot, patrols the red zones and endeavors to save your brand new SUV from runaway shopping cart therapy?
It winds by and states; "Thank you for buying at at Wal-mart" as it patrols. It appears for all kinds of stuff such as babies in cars with the windows bound up or cars arranging burnouts in the parking lot as it points to get it all on tape and send the video feed in real time to the local police department. The more free energy it utilizes the more evaporation water is left downward. The fuel cells generate electrical energy to power up an electric motor and the surveillance video cameras and of course the robots brains. A chemical response between hydrogen and oxygen is getting all this happen using the fuel cell technologies. Now And Again as the robot proceeds over a rush bump you might see a dull vapor or fog poof out the back, but all in all this is an supplemental fueled robot, which is environmentally friendly.
In fact this is not science fabrication, as research workers in Tokyo have made such a robot and it is accessible for sale now. Guess Wal-Marts cost deliveries by letting go if its protection guard contracts and welcomer at its 8,000 outlets. Surely from an economies of scale scenario this is well than RFID tags on its pallets. One company; Sohgo Security Services Co. is working on a robot which can go one week without recharge and they are looking at more than just security.
Receptionists, car wash personalised, warehouse labor and mos inventing jobs will shortly be affairs of the past. Robot gardeners, landscapers, pool cleaning, house maids are almost all upcoming to market now and the mass marketing potential of a strong US based midway class has many a consumer inclined to put their money where they trusts are. Sohgo has a robot they call C-4, Guard Robo and today it goes 2.5 hours on a lead battery, alike to those ride on wheel chairs. It can work as a receptionist while pointing and then do a perimeter sweep and go back and charge again.
The Robot is completely wire-less sending back a complete video and alarms signals. Robots, which often use ultrasound waves sensors, lidar and infrared to work, do not need actual light and if made quiet enough can scare the ever living bejesus out of an intruder. With all the work at the major robotic research Universities, robots can have faces, body parts and communicate as they patrol with the humans they interact with.
The future is here, you are just not paying attention to all the latest developments.
Make A Fuel Cell
What's mean is Fuel Cell
(1)?Hydrogen must be carried in a pressurized bottle. If propane, natural gas
or diesel are used, a reformer is needed to convert the fuel to hydrogen.
Reformers for PEMFCs are bulky and expensive. They start slowly and
purification is required. Often the hydrogen is delivered at low pressure and
additional compression is required. Some fuel efficiency is lost and a
certain amount of pollution is produced. However, these pollutants are typically 90 percent
less than what comes from the tailpipe of a car.
The fuel cell concept was developed
in 1839 by Sir William Grove, a Welsh judge and gentleman scientist. The
invention never took off, partly because of the success of the internal
combustion engine. It was not until the second half of the 20th century when
scientists learned how to better utilize materials such as platinum and
Teflon? that the fuel cell could be put to practical use.
A fuel cell can be thought of as
electrolysis in reverse, using two electrodes separated by an electrolyte.
Hydrogen is presented to the negative electrode (anode) and oxygen to the
positive electrode (cathode). A catalyst at the anode separates the hydrogen
into positively charged hydrogen ions and negatively charged electrons. On
the PEM system, the hydrogen is catalyzed; the smaller protons migrate across
the membrane to the cathode where they combine with oxygen to produce water
and heat. The electrodes pick up the electrons to produce an electric
current. A single fuel cell produces 0.6 to 0.8V under load. Several cells
are connected in series to obtain higher voltages.
