In this case, the opportunity presented to him fits his talents and inclinations exactly, and can well be a stepping stone to greater success.
In evaluating making money home business opportunities, the lesson is this: choose the opportunities that suit you; in areas that you love and have talents in. You will never go wrong by following this path. If you are interested in plants, start a plant nursery. If you are a book lover, consider starting a book club. If you are passionate about beauty products, consider setting up a small shop, maybe even mixing your own concoctions. The possibilities are endless and infinitely varied. Whether you want to sell goods or to provide services, you only have to make sure that you provide a quality product at a reasonable price. As long you as what you have to offer is useful, you should be able to make money from your own opportunities, not wait for them to come by!

After you've been awarded the necessary permits and know what type of business you're going to run, figure out what you need to charge in order to make a profit. A lot of home businesses fail because the owners sell their product too cheaply since they figure they won't have a lot of overhead costs. But remember that even a home-based business costs more than you'd think. Costs to consider are mortgage, taxes, costs of cleaning the office, utilities, office furnishings, office supplies, and even the cost of maintaining the driveway if you expect clients to park there. You'll actually be spending more than you think to run your home business.
Now that you're ready to venture into the free market, you need to decide upon business hours. You might think, "I work at home! I can work whatever hours I want!" However, you have to be accessible for clients who are relying on you to be there during regular daytime hours. You need to have a set schedule for your customers' sake. So think about your choice of office area when you are making the decision at the start, only if you plan on expanding though. Just make sure that you can deal with outgrowing your home office. Set up a plan to transition into a larger office space once your business grows to another level.
