The term Onyx on the other hand, came from the many formations of onyx seen as one goes through its easy-to-walk-through trails. Tours and explorations of the Mammoth Onyx Cave have been going on since 1816.



One of its most breathtaking features is the onyx waterfall which rises up to 78 feet above the trail.
