To be a successful retailer in the Off-Line Market Place, the three most important factors for success are, location, location and location! A store in the high street is going to do far more business that one hidden down an ally or small side street. If the customer can't find you then you are not going to sell a thing and eventually go bust. Well the internet is not much different really.



However, here is no high street or back alley. Just the World-Wide Web, and over a billion users either seeking information or looking to buy something. That's your Market Place!

But how are we going to get a piece of this action? How are they going to find our site amongst the trillion other sites out there?

This is where a little Internet Marketing Know-how is going to help you out. It doesn't matter if you have a brilliant product or a fantastically designed website, if people don't know you exist, it doesn't matter, and you are not going to make a dime. Worse of all, your business could simply just go under from lack of customers

Just like the Off-Line Marketplace, to get potential customers to your On-Line Store, you have to get out there and promote! There are two mediums. One is free and the other comes with a price tag. (Correction. - There's nothing Free in this world! Time is also money! Put a value on yours). BUT, it doesn't have to take a whole arm and leg to generate website traffic for your site, either

There is no hard and fast rule in generating income for your website! There are so many Internet Marketing strategies you can use to help people find your site. Also there are a great variety of powerful marketing tools for you to choose from, along with advice and recommendations from some of the top marketing consultants and Internet experts. They all have their individual styles and interpretations on the theme. One thing, however, in which they all agree! To make money on the Internet 'Traffic' is everything! Because Traffic is the life blood of successful Internet Marketing. Without Traffic (Potential Customers). Like the store in the back alley, we will not sell a thing and eventually fold tents and fade away.

Start with the basics. The Store itself! Start with the Website, and learn how to drive Traffic to your site. (Master this first and you will never be poor). Acquire this knowledge first and then get a product or programme to promote second. Rather than the other way around. Because without Traffic you haven't got a business

How do your get potential customers to visit your site? Search Engines send out Spiders to crawl the web collating relevant information. They look for certain keywords that they would show in their search results page. Having the right keyword and keyword phrases is a requirement in ranking high in the Search Engine results. And getting your site found! There are certain rules and guidelines to be followed with making your site's content applicable and conducive to Search Engine optimization. (SEO)

Use your own Internet Marketing Know-how? What do you do when your? looking for something on the Internet. Think what you? would type into to the search box if you were looking for the information or product. Build your keywords around that. Use proper keywords or keyword phrases in your web-site's description and content

Also you can write good content for you site that contains the important keywords getting your site listed in the first page will generally confirm your site's existence and subsequently generate more traffic, traffic that could lead to potential income and business.

Write and distribute articles. Make sure you write your articles so that they pique the attention of people that have an interest in your product and a link back to your site. Take advantage of online forums and online communities. The great thing about forums and on-line communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking

Write a Newsletter; If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who signs up for your newsletter, the more people there will be to go to your site increasing your traffic.

Exchange links with another webmaster This works well especially when both sites feature the same type of product.

Traffic Exchange and Safe Lists. (There are so many arguments for and against Safe-List being productive) All I can say is try everything! Find out what works for you. E-mail. Marketing has become quite difficult due the unwanted submissions (Spam) but can still work if done correctly

Then of course there is paid Advertising Google, Yahoo and MSN being the biggest players in the Pay per Click Market. Money Makes Money. With this form of promotion you are getting highly targeted visitors to your site, and can control your advertising campaigns budget, keep fine tuning until you get it right.

Starting a new Internet Marketing business is never easy, but it doesn't have to be as difficult as you think, and it can be fun. Remember the Law of momentum. It takes 90% effort to obtain 10% benefit until 10% effort obtains 90% Benefit
