Getting married in Monroe County can be as easy or as difficult as you wish to make it.

LICENSE WAITING PERIOD In Florida, you can get married the same day you purchase your marriage license and there is no residency requirement.

If you are a Florida Resident, then there is a three day waiting period.

MARRIAGE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS The license requirements are that both parties must be 18 years of age or older, or 16 with parental consent.

License requirements state that there is no blood test, and no waiting period for Non-Florida Residents. If you are divorced or widowed, the date and/or certificate of divorce or death is necessary. If Your divorce is less then six months ago, you will need to bring your divorce papers.
