= (60 + 5) x 12

= 720 + 60

= 780.

= 65 x (10+2)

= 650+130

= 780

Example 3

34 x 9

= (30 + 4) x 9

= 270 + 36

= 306

Example 4

312 x 14

= (300 + 10 +2) x 14

= 4200+140+28

= 4368
