There are plenty of reasons! Dressing the part plays a starring part in a ton of aspects of your life story. Imagine your workplace, your love life and your day to day activities.
It's almost all in the way you look, I've seen numerous people get promoted just due to the fact that they have at all times looked certified. Maybe looking certified didn't get them the job but at least it got them the interview! Most women also welcome a man who knows how to play with apparel, it makes them conceive their man is assured and accomplished. The way people see things is key in day to day activities and the way you wear clothing has a large impact on it.
It's a given fact that it takes only 30 seconds for someone to make up their mind on what they believe you. Imagine if you look similar to a fool? I'm certain you get the picture.
So why not simply go ahead and take charge, move in the right direction simply by looking wonderful. It might open a few doors manyweren't expecting.
Here is a list of tips to help you and fashion mistakes to avoid!
- Too much jewelry. Put the jewelry away P. Diddy or should we call you Puff Daddy? If you want to wear jewelry, opt for a classy pair of designer cufflinks.
- Comb-overs. These shout insecurity. Shave it, lose it or cover it.
- Never wear both a belt and suspenders. The combination makes you appear less confident - you big wuss.
- Socks should match your pants. Easy as 1, 2, 3.
- Backpacks. OK, maybe this is just a minor mistake, but you're trying to climb the corporate ladder, not hike up a mountain.
- Wear the right size pants ok? Pants should be long enough to cover your socks, and socks should cover your shins even when you cross you legs. Pants are long enough if they have a slight break in the front. Pleats and cuffs are traditional and functional. Pleats let you sit down comfortably and cuffs add weight to the bottoms allowing for proper drape.
- The Button-Down collar dress shirt is simply not acceptable for dressy formal wear nor with a double-breasted suit. That's because even though it's now a daytime business classic, it was originally a sport shirt worn by polo players.
- Your shoes should be clean, shined, repaired and appropriate for the occasion. If you are wearing a suit, wear lace-up shoes. Don't forget to keep shoetrees in your shoes when you're not wearing them.
- Chunky Shoes. Lose them, the Axel Rose era is over.
- Ponytails. You're not the rock star of your office. Spend the 20$ for a haircut, you can afford it.
- Belts should match your shoes.
- Ties should reach your belt line. This is simply the rule. A short tie makes you look like a dufus.
- Properly knotted ties have a "dimple" under the knot. Clips and tacks are out of date.
- Never wear a short sleeve shirt with a tie. Actually, never wear a short sleeve shirt period. Short sleeve shirts are perceived to be worn only by lower class people. You can wear one if you aspire to be a McDonald's manager, not if you want to project a professional image.
- Socks with Sandals. Even if you live in Maine, don't do it - you'll look like a schmuck.
- Clashing or too many colors. Do you really want to look like a gay pride flag? Stick to complementary colors (those opposite from each other on the color wheel) or colors from the same pallet.

1. The Old Bowling Shirt - Did this one ever really go out of style? Well, yes, but only for a little while. The classic bowling shirt is a rare retro find that will have you looking for a strike in no time. Look for bowling shirts with team names still embroidered on them or classic designs on the back.
2. Funky Shoes - Retro shoes that look like they were stolen off of a bandleader's feet are still very hot. Look for classic saddle shoes or spectators. The best material is of course alligator if you really want that retro feel. When worse comes to worse, an old pair of bowling shoes will still work.
3. Ringneck Tees - These are still old standards in any retro closet. Ringneck tees, whether they are long sleeve or short, are a quick way to feel retro the minute you slip them on. Look for tees with a little wear on them if you are going for that true vintage look.
4. The Hawaiian Shirt - If you're looking for an old Hawaiian shirt, remember, louder is better. Look for bright and bold prints that scream 'I'm retro!' You can really have a lot of fun with these.
5. Chains and Jewelry - This was the era of the fraternity pins, class rings and awesome chains. Look for unique pieces of jewelry that will complete your whole retro look.
6. Classic Denim - Jeans were just starting to take off during this period and they were made so well, chances are they'll still be good for plenty of years to come. The designs of this time period were simple, but the workmanship and pocket details will still stand the test of time.
7. Wide Ties - The 50's were the era of the really wide tie. Look for some classic models with 50's prints but don't go overboard. If you don't want to go quite that retro, skinny ties were all the rage in the 60's and may work better with modern shirts.
8. Work Shirts - Even if your name isn't Bob and you never worked at a gas station, these work shirts can go to work for you. Nothing says retro quite like someone else's old work shirt.
9. Old Forgotten Brands - The best shirts are the ones that advertise for company's that have long been extinct. Look for strange shirts with even stranger slogans on them. This will give you a truly retro look and feel. Classic tshirts for retro brands are still very hip. Look for an old Coca-Cola tee or even shirts for bands back in the day. The crazier the better with these shirts.
10. Don't forget your hair - If you really want to go retro, don't forget to include your head. Study classic styles from the 50's and go to an old fashioned barber. You'll look like you just stepped out of a time capsule.
