The concept of mental health refers to an individual's emotional and physical well-being and the term mental health is either described as a level of cognitive or emotional wellness free of mental illnesses. In a way, it is 'the individuals? ability to socially interact with one another and the environment, which indicates subjective well-being, optimal development and the use of cognitive, affective and relational abilities'. The way a person functions with effectiveness is indicative of that person's mental health.
