London is the capital of England and the world's ninth largest municipality. It has a rich history that spans nearly 2000 years, which started with the arrival of the Romans soon after their invasion of Britain in AD43.London is situated on the banks of the river Thames, in the south east of England.

In 1863, rising traffic congestion on roads in city centre London led to the construction of the world's rudimentary metro system, the London Underground.The metropolis was bombed badly amid the second world war and legions lives were lost. This fantastic museum has some unreal exhibits, including the excellent replica diplodocus skeleton, named dippy, which stands in the museum's central hall. Another well known exhibit is the skeleton of a blue whale, which weighs a massive 10 tons and is presented in the immense mammals hall.

The shops in London are some of the most in the world. From designer stores to independent stores, there is something for everyone in this huge borough.One of London's greater influential stores is Hamleys, a whopping toy shop on Regent Street. It is a major tourist draw and receives 5 million travellers every year, myriads of whom reside at Christmas. Boasting an thrilling seven floors, the toy shop caters for everyone, from babies and toddlers to grown ups!

London has a wide range of things to do at night, including exclusive bars, clubs and restaurants.London's restaurants cater to every budget and taste. From cheap eats like Pizza Express, Pizza Hut and Bella Italia, to high end restaurants, you will be spoiled for choice. The city also fanfaronades a wide range of Michelin starred restaurants, which include Tom Aikens, Umu and Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, although you will present to book far in advance for a table at one of these locales.
