A person who is fortunate enough to have both money and leisure time often decides to buy a motorcycle and travel over North America. There are few better feelings than the one you get when you have the wind in your face, the freedom of the open road and the beauty of America combined for your personal enjoyment. You can go where you want, when you want and just enjoy the pleasure the trip brings.



Using a motorcycle to explore the country is really appealing now because even a great big hog of a bike is not a gas guzzler, and will beat the mileage of any car bigger than a roller skate. It is a way to go sight seeing for one or two people that still means using a tank full of gas that costs only a few dollars. Most cars are not nearly as thrilling, either.

You would still need to use precautions as you would in a car like gearing down to brake on descent instead of burning out your breaks on steep inclines. Beware of falling rocks too since not the best helmets can stop them! And you always should wear protective gear in case of spills when you ride a motorcycle in the mountain. But at least it is cooler there and those long sleeve and jackets will feel pretty good too.

All of the world has more appeal to each of your five senses from the back of a motorcycle. Not only do you see and hear much more, you actually feel the imperfections of the asphalt, the roar of the engine, and wind and weather on your skin. You do not merely see snow capped peaks, you become part of them.

The purchase of a motorcycle is possible for most people. A motorcycle is certainly much more reasonably priced than any reliable automobile, either new or used. Many people can afford to buy new bikes and good used ones are even more economical. Even those on very tight budgets and usually afford one.
