Network Marketing Affiliate Software

    View:
Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money online, but many people give up long before they see that first check. Creating a business is a tough thing to do, even if it is online. A quick search on the internet will show that there are millions of articles, content and ebooks that are filled with information on how you too can get a piece of the work at home pie.

Network marketing like MLM or multi level marketing has been around for ages. So has affiliate marketing. However, what works better is a matter of personal preference. Here we explain what each of these entail.

What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is carried out online and all affiliate marketers get their compensation on each transaction. In affiliate marketing the kind of products sold are those that are purchased only one time by the customer. Thus the more the marketer sells, the more his or her chances at gaining income online. The compensation plan in affiliate marketing is purely based upon performance benchmarks. Thus the more the sales, click through and registrations the affiliate marketer manages to get, the more the chances of income. The actions which will result in compensation are outlined between the marketer and merchant before starting the contract.

What is network marketing?

The compensation plan in network marketing is quite similar to affiliate marketing. However, the main difference is in the number of levels through which compensations can be achieved. The sponsoring company can pay the network marketer upto several or even unlimited levels. However, the original agreement will outline the restrictions in the maximum amount of payment as well as the maximum number of levels the payout can reach. Usually individual arrangements and contracts will differ from one network marketing program to another. This makes comparison quite difficult. The network marketer earns a direct referral fee which is a result of his recommendation of a friend or acquaintance. He may also avail a leverage fee which is due to his "downlines" referring their friends and associates into the network layers. Differences between the two

There are many differences between affiliate marketing and network marketing as outlined below:

Presence of layers: While network marketing has several layers or strata of people referring other recruiters into the system, affiliate marketing is devoid of any such layers.

Ongoing effort: In affiliate marketing one needs to put in continual efforts in order to gain sustainable income on a long term basis. However in network marketing just with initial efforts, one can continue to reap long term dividends because of the leverage fees associated.

People to people: Network marketing success largely depends on the ability to have good interpersonal skills and enhancing the "downlines" more. However affiliate marketing is more of an individual effort which focuses on gaining maximum profits through individual attempts.

Types of products sold: In the case of network marketing the kind of products sold are primarily those which will be bought by customers again and again. Thus the sale is a repeat process. However in the case of affiliate marketing the type of products sold are such that customers will buy them only once.

Ease of selling: In network marketing it is more difficult to sell products to customers. It's because supply far outweighs demand. Because of the many layers and sellers trying to sell the same product, the likelihood of the product getting sold gets diminished. In the case of affiliate marketing, it is easier to sell these products especially since they involve more than one type of product. Thus there are more choices and options in an affiliate marketing program.

Stagnation: In network marketing it is very easy to reach a point of stagnation. In other words, once the layers start to increase, the chance of selling the product reduces. This can result in the network marketing chain stagnating in terms of sales. On the other hand, in the case of affiliate marketing, although initially a lot of effort and time maybe needed and sales maybe sluggish, over time the results can be exponential sales.

Downlines: In the case of network marketing, each person has two downlines. These two downlines have two persons under them and so on. However in the case of affiliate marketing, the maximum number of layers it can go to is 5.

Final thoughts

Both affiliate marketing and network marketing have their own benefits and drawbacks. No matter which marketing method you opt for, be sure to assess all compensation plans and choose the marketing tool wisely. At the end of the day, you want to maximize your profit potential and it is solely up to you to decide which model suits you best.
Network Marketing Affiliate Software
If you plan to build an internet business or internet empire without a doubt affiliate marketing is something you need to become involved with.

So let's answer the first question, What is Affiliate Marketing? Affiliate Marketing is selling on behalf of someone else in return for a percentage of the sale. You stock no product, don't need to package or handle, nor do you have the normal business overheads. What you do need with Affiliate Marketing is web presence. The internet is now so huge - 8 Billion pages and growing - that the chance of someone stumbling on your site is low to nil without doing some tricks of the trade. (see my article or website on generate traffic and create hits) for further on that topic.

The simple fact of the matter is you will not get sales if you don't get traffic. Think of it this way - an affiliate product is sold by advertising, therefore what will generate more sales? One ad or thousands of ads? That's pretty easy, the more ads, the more traffic, the greater the number of sales. Understand that the conversion rate on the internet is low. A conversion rate is the number of views before a potential sale. Normally this hovers around 1%. It tends not to matter what you are selling this rate tends to remain the same, your offer could be the very best on the net but still the conversion rate tends to be 1% - or one in hundred visitors will buy and make you money. Anyone with a conversion rate of 3% would be considered to be doing amazingly well and most people can not achieve this kind of result. Compare this with the conversion rate of people visiting the local shopping center, apart those teenagers who just love to 'hang', most people going to the shops buy at least something.

Obviously the internet is a different kind of market. People are in the comfort of their own homes. The psychology of the sale is very different. Whereas people going to the shops are buying necessities like the weekly groceries, online people are tending to buy luxuries. The spur of the moment sale is less demanding as well, because people can bookmark and know they can come back later - they can delay the purchase decision with no fear of losing their chance to purchase. Some internet marketers have tried to overcome this by saying only 50 left, only 33 left, etc, having a count down. But as they tend to be selling information packages and not hard products people still to not have the need to impulse buy. Whereas at the shop they are aware the stock is limited and may be sold out next week so the buy now mentality rules, hence why we continue to have increasing credit card debt.

However just because the impulse buy is not the overriding feature on the internet does not mean sales to not occur. They do, and do so on a regular basis. In fact just about anything and everything is sold via the net. Companies already on tight advertising budgets realize you can not dominate the net like you can television or radio advertising. You might have sole sponsorship rights to a particular sports team or sports star i.e. Nike with Tiger Woods, but you can't dominate eight billion individual pages. So the smart companies decide that the cheapest way to increase there internet present is to appeal to the millions of internet webmasters, etc. How? By giving them a slice of the action, from about 5-10% for sales of traditional items e.g. flowers, hotel stays, etc up to 75% for informational products or services. Whilst one affiliate ad on one site may not generate a huge income, 1000 ads on 1000 sites can generate a small fortune. Although this sort of internet presence takes time to set up, once accomplished they keep on selling day after day with no further input from you necessary.

So if you have no affiliate partnerships get moving and get some now. If you have sites, maximize their income potential by adding affiliate banners and links. The most popular providers of affiliate links are clixGalore, clickbank and Commission Junction.

My favorite is clixGalore due to their easy to use interface and there provision of traditional product lines and worldwide coverage in most currencies if clixGalore and I strongly suggest you join them.

I also like clickbank and their advantage is that they affiliate programs tend to have a higher payout percentage.

Commission Junction is my least favorite because many of its programs are very selective about who they have as affiliate partners.
