If you don't know the term Network Marketing, you may know it from its other aliases, MLM, Multi-Level Marketing or Network, or the infamous Pyramid Scheme. We've heard about them, maybe even been to the meetings. Oh the meetings, stuck in a room listening to a motivating presentation about how if you get three people who get three people financial freedom is yours. That's all great, however sometimes you don't even know what type of business you're getting yourself into, or just don't know enough about that business. But, the whole being your own boss sounds so good.



Let's say you did get involved, and you are excited, you know that this business will work. It's worked for so many others, why not you. They're no better than you. I did it, I got involved, and knew someone who went from nothing to making about $20,000 per month. The only problem is, this person knew how to present a whole lot better than me. This person was in sales, and knew how to sell. I was a waiter at the time, really knew nothing about follow up. I ended up just spending my money on the coop programs, got the leads and really didn't work on them, because I didn't know how. If I knew then what I know now, I may have made the money I thought I would.

I was frustrated. I spent a lot of money on marketing material, went to the meetings, told as many people about my opportunity, but wasn't getting the results I thought I was going to get. I'm sure many of us have felt the same way. One of the biggest objections I always got was “Make the money first and I'll do it.” How was I going to make the money first when people weren't getting involved. That's when the negativity about Network Marketing sets in.

Think about this, you don't think that Network Marketing works, but it absolutely does. Why do I make this statement? If you don't even mention the business to someone, and just tell them that it's a Network Marketing opportunity, what's the first reaction you get? A negative one, why? Because all the people that have failed in this type of business told three people that it was bad, who told three people it was bad, and so on and so on. This is the essence of Network Marketing. Think about all the people that have ill feelings regarding Network Marketing; that would be one heck of a business.

All that being said, I'm hear today to tell you that you don't need to worry about the meetings any more. You don't need to worry about the three foot rule. Everything has changed, and if you liked Network Marketing in the past, you may want to look into it again. No, I'm not crazy, and I'll tell you why I'm not crazy, one invention that has changed the world for over a decade, the Internet.

With the Internet, the Network Marketing companies have done some exciting things. If you decide to move forward now, you are provided with a replicated website. This is your website that looks like the company's website. The company handles all the website updating, you don't need to know any type of programming. No more inviting people to meetings, unless you want to. All the information regarding your business is on your website.

Now I'm not saying that you don't need to work anymore, or don't need to spend money. What I am saying is that, the way the Internet has evolved it is a lot easier for you to promote your business and attract the type of people you want to attract. For example, have you heard about the search engine Google. Of course you have, Google has even become an adjective. How many times have you heard someone say “Just Google it”? If you promote your website on the search engines in the right way, you will get the visitors, and from there the sales.

It's the way of the world, people go onto the Internet to learn. This is just one way to promote your website on the Internet. You can even promote your website in a way that you don't even need to speak to anyone. There are so many techniques out there that can make you successful. It won't ever happen overnight. However, if you keep your focus, do the right promoting for your business, you can make it. There are millions of people on the Internet right now. How many of them are tired of doing what they're doing, and are looking for something new? Think about the possibilities. No more meetings, no more cold calling, no more list buying. It's a beautiful thing to think about. Network Marketing is back, and will be stronger than ever thanks to that invention the Internet.
