Prom is one of the most important days or a teenage girl's life. It's a right of passage for many, marking the end of childhood and the start of adulthood. But, it's also an important time for mom. Let's face it; the months, weeks and days leading up to Prom can be very stressful. Any help on offer can only be a good thing. The first person a girl usually turns for help and advice is her mother. But, when it comes to choosing a designer prom dress, many girls shy away from asking for their mother's help. Pressure from friends plus a feeling that mom is out of date contribute to not asking for help.

This is really a great shame, as a mother knows her daughter like no one else. A mother will give advice that is always truthful and in the best interests of her daughter. Seeking advice is easier if the daughter already knows she wants to wear a traditional style like a Tiffany prom dress; her mother will have worn something similar and they'll be able to more easily discuss minor points of styling.
