For most people, the word water damage brings the picture of torrential rain or flooded house by overflowing river. This is just a part of the causes of water damage and there are many other hidden sources of water damage that are not obvious like rain. Check for any blocks in sewages, overflowing septic tank and leaking taps periodically to safeguard any unforeseen damage.

They conveniently forget that what appears like a thin stream of water seeping externally is not all what is happening inside. Actually a pipe might have burst inside the walls and only a part of that water is flowing out. The continuous soaking of brick and mortar inside the walls will destabilize the structure which is already water damage.

The charges paid for frequent inspection by the experts is nothing compared to the amount of money spent on restoration. Instead of sitting and repenting after the damage has been done, it is suggested to be alert and watch for any doubtful symptoms. If the water is leaking inside the walls, then the first sign is peeling wall paint. The room smells weird and you can also feel a sudden difference in temperature on the bare floor.
