You are deep in a tunnel. It is so dark and no place to go. You are trying to escape but your brain fools you. So you got stuck. So what does it has to do with finding dream jobs? Do you know why did people start to look for their dream job? Well a survey conducted by Harris Interactive (www.harrisinteractive.com) announced by CareerBuilder (www.careerbuilder.com) on January 25, 2007 revealed that four out five(84%) of U.S. workers are still searching for their dream jobs. Having fun at work was the most important attribute of a dream job for 39 percent of workers. Making a difference in society came second (17 percent) and outweighed the 12 percent who said salary was most important.
From that survey it can be said that most people don't know what they really want in life. They just go along with their everyday life like going into a tunnel but somehow the tunnel is getting darker and darker as they go deeper. And when they got stuck only then they would really start thinking. And there where their true dreams started to comes alive. So in other words dream career only came into play when you have problems.
That means if you want to find a dream career then you have to solve your problems and the problems is not your current career or situation. Although you might have a boring job, feel frustrated, uninspired, burned out or other any other reason but actually it is about something down inside your heart. It somehow can't tolerate. So sit down and do some deep thinking. From the survey the no 1 reason is to have fun at work so you might go for that. But don't follow them because they are only half inside the tunnel and never really get stuck yet and they will someday. And when they reach the end of tunnel they will go for no 2 and that is the ultimate dream career. So if you still not reaching the end of tunnel yet why not straight away find your way out of the tunnel and do your ultimate dream career earlier than most people.
Giving something to others is the happiest moment in life not getting something from others. Confucius said, "Find a job you enjoy, and you'll never work a day in your life." So how to find your dream career? Find work you enjoy but not enjoying for only a moments, year or two but one you would can't just get enough. What is your hobbies, skill, unique gifts or talents? Work that you could enjoy your whole life is a work you can give to others while you are working or a work that is in the direction to the work where you can give to others. For example if you like sports and passionate about it very much you could become athletes and continue as coach after you retired. But if you don't feel like coaching or anything related to sports later on then actually sports is not your dream careers. It is only your half inside the tunnel career.
So do some soul searching now then later. Giving something to others will never let your heart dies and it will always also give you desire to do better in life and will only stop at your last breath. But don't just ask how to find your dream career but ask next ?I found my dream career but how could I get it??. Well that is a different question. I probably could answer that if I see you in front of the tunnel. So go now before it gets dark.
Part Time Job Career
Ever wonder why so many people job shift. The easy answer is: "I am tired of working like a dog, and getting nowhere." Translation - they are changing jobs because they don't have a career.
A job can be found nearly anywhere. However, a career is a long term commitment between an employer and employee. Careers aren't handed out, they are earned. Here are three simple tips to turn any job into a career.
Take a vested interest in the company!
If you want an employer to value you, then you must give them a reason to value your work, knowledge, and skill. I don't mean just being efficient at your job. It doesn't matter how efficient you are at your chosen profession, if you don't know the specific regulations, policies, core values, mission, etc.. of the employer.
Show that you care!
An employer can tell who is there for just another paycheck. A person who is trying to make a career will be more than willing to do their part in good, and bad times. The employee that goes the extra mile to cut cost, stay late, forgo a raise, etc.. in bad times, will be the person the company will remember in good times.
Be a team player!
The employee that calls in sick with every head cold, shows up late every other morning, takes long lunches, etc.. is not going to be seen as a dedicated employee. All of these things put a stress on someone else; causing other employees to take up the slack.
Furthermore, go beyond what is expected of you. Take the initiative to do the things, that you know will be asked of you, before it is asked. If you see that another employee is swamped, and it is something that you are capable and free to do, then help before you are asked to do so.
