The military swords do have hilts which is the collective term to all the parts that allows the handle and control of the sword's blade. The hilt is consists of a pommel, grip, and a guard. The guard is located near to the blade of the sword and a pommel which has usually round located at the tip of the hilt. There is this middle area located between the guard and the pommel. This middle area is called a grip. The grip's size will depend whether the user will use only one hand or two hands in holding it.
