I was promptly contacted by a gentleman name Mike. Mike was very informative and forthcoming about Passport to Wealth as well as online marketing in general. As I said, Mike was a gentleman. Mike informed me that the initial investment to get started in PPTW is $997.00
What are you Promoting?
Once you sign up with Passport, you recieve a number of digital online marketing aids. Along with the products you receive a license to sell any of these as many times as you wish and, of course, the opportunity to market the business opportunity and recruit new members. I was then directed to a "business overview call".
The call was somewhat standard from my experience. A "leader" or moderator starts the call by reading a canned presentation. This is followed by some testimonials and then a Q and A session. It was explained during the call that the products had actually been "valued" at about $75,000.00 All of this sounded pretty good so I decided to start asking the very important questions.
How do I get Paid?
Passport to Wealth is structured as an "Australian 2-up". I'm not comfortable with this type of program. You pass-up you first two sales to your sponsor. These are called "training sales". Then it is expected that everyone you recruit will pass up two sales to you.
I don't believe that the "2-up" compensation plan is the most equitable for the new member. You're much better off finding a plan where you at least share in the profits from the very beginning. After all, you put so much effort into your business in the beginning, why not reap at least part of the rewards?
In Summary
I truly believe that Passport to Wealth is a real marketing opportunity with real products to go along with the business opportunity however, I chose to pass. I simply don't feel that, even though I may learn a lot from a sponsor, I should "pass up" my initial profits. That's how THEY make money, not how I make it. Also, after those initial sales are complete, your sponsor has no vested interest in your business anymore, a lot of them tend to disappear. Oh, I almost forgot. After the passed up sales aren't you and your sponsor in direct competition for new business?
