Traditionally software integration was only available to large organisations; organisations with a high budgets, large IT departments and complex systems. Large organisations have been able to run accounts, CRM and payroll packages using the same fully integrated and synchronised data, where as small businesses have been left running applications in different areas and manually piecing together the data at a latter time.
Facing ever-increasing demands to improve efficiency and optimise productivity, smaller businesses are being forced towards integrated solutions to survive in an increasingly competitive market. With their notorious costs and complexity, can small businesses really afford to invest in complete business solutions?
Integrated business solutions allow for complete coherence through out your business. From accounts and CRM to E-marketing and human resources, all departments within businesses can be working from the same real time information. Integrated software suites allow you to track the entire process from initial enquiry, sale, invoice, delivery and after sales service.
Serving to remove hold ups, technical difficulties and miscommunications during the sale process, integrated business solutions can help maximise productivity, increase sales and improve customer service.
Deciding to invest in a potentially expensive and complex business solution can be a difficult decision, especially for a small business. The possibility of teething problems, training requirements and inevitable support contacts means that introducing an integrated business solution is a real investment and is much more involving than simply installing out of the box software.
The potential costs and difficulties involved in installing such software should not necessarily put smaller business off investing, as for the right business; integrated software can be a revolution. However, successful pre sales project management, project scoping and consultancy are vital in ensuring that your business gets the system that exactly meets your needs. When it comes to integrated software, there is no 'one-size-fits-all' solution.
Integrated business solutions can be expensive, difficult to install and temperamental to run. Despite this the benefits of business solutions, more than out way the cons. These solutions help your business run smoothly, allow your sales and accounts teams to communicate effectively and reduce the time spent on admin tasks, giving you the space to spend your time productively by growing your business.
Integrated business solutions are less expensive then they once were and there are plenty available in the small business market. Furthermore, once installed your business will begin to see return on investment. Integrated business solutions can give you the ability to compete with larger organisations, removing your inefficiencies and allowing you to concentrate on increasing sales and improving customer service. Providing you invest time in choosing and deciding if you need such a system, then they are a more than worthy investment.
Path Reminder Software Solutions
In his book, “Action! Nothing Happens Until Something Moves”, strategist Robert Ringer makes the astute statement that action is the key element in how your life plays out. Many times we fall in the “trap” of inaction because we are bombarded with so many items to take action upon that we either misappropriate or literally forget those that have the biggest impact on our well-being.
The focus of this article is on the big impact items that we forget.
The simplicity of reminder software may cause you to dismiss its capable role in relieving stress; however, finish this article before you relegate this idea.
One business owner, we'll call him Bob, that I know well is heavily involved in the software business. He deals with tasks ranging from software development, marketing and customer service.
In the business world, customer relationship management (CRM) is key machine and follow-up is an essential cog in the CRM machine.
Bob has been frustrated with his ability to manage his customer contacts. He was mentioning how he would be inconsistent in his newsletter writing and customer contact. Consequently, his customers were forgetting him and the products they had purchased from him.
Bob understands that the customer contact is a big impact item. He also understands that other conflicting low impact items have distracted him from getting the “big impact” things done.
I suggested using reminder software to help him manage his contacts. The following paragraphs explain the implementation.
The first step was to create a timeline for touch points. For each touch point date, I advised him to create a reminder entry with the message(s) he wanted to communicate and the contact information for individuals he wanted to reach. Now his mind is brought into focus with the big impact item when the reminder fires. He can drop or refuse the low impact items and execute the big impact items right away while they are “fresh” on his mind.
Bob implemented the reminder process for other big impact items also using this reminder software that is too lengthy for this article.
Bob now has effective stress management as a by-product of timely and consistent reminders of the big impact items that are necessary for the health of his business.
Bob's stress problems were coming from the fact that he was frustrated that he dropped the ball on his most important activities yet he was working very hard.
In the noisy society that we live in today, messages are coming from everywhere demanding your time and attention. You must learn to use technology to help stay focused on “what matters most.” In Bob's, case it was customer contact management. For you, it may be your child's special events. Find these big impact items in your life and apply reminder software to keep your stress level as low as possible.
