Patio And Garden Furniture

    View:
The retail market for garden furniture is dominated by imports of finished and semi-assembled furniture sold mainly by major DIY and furniture outlets. Such garden furniture is decorative and very durable. There are many different types of cheap garden furniture including hardwood, teak, metal, cast iron and even sets that come with glass tables.

The French and German markets are two of the most significant in Europe for garden furniture, and both have shown steady growth over recent years. The fashion for dining or taking tea alfresco traveled easily to America, where garden furniture became a fixture of the landscape, just as it had in England.

The purchase of teak garden furniture is a true investment in value. Teak is an excellent choice for outdoor furniture as the wood ages beautifully and will give you outdoor living pleasure and years of enjoyment. Teak is an extremely dense-grained wood and is very resistant to rot, warping, shrinkage and swelling which makes it ideal for outdoor patio and garden furniture. You will want to choose your style of teak furniture carefully as your outdoor teak furniture will be around for many years. Most teak furniture owners will leave their teak furniture outside all year long as there is no reason not to, such is its resilience.

Indonesian teak is considered by many teak furniture manufacturers to be the highest quality of teak wood available in the world today. Teak furniture is generally all made with mortise and tendon joinery. This is a far superior method of construction which results in more durable and resilient pieces of furniture. Most manufacturers will also use solid brass castings, screws and bolts in the construction of their furniture, which adds that touch of class. The highest quality teak furniture will also be fully machine made.

Fully machine made teak garden furniture guarantees the owner will have more uniformity and a more perfectly finished product. Enjoy garden furniture that is solidly built, needs little maintenance, and will go on giving pleasure in your garden year after year.

When choosing your garden furniture, keep in mind the geographic location that you live in. If your are is prone to extremes of temperature, you will need to ensure your purchase will withstand these extremes.

An example of this is, where your summer temperatures reach very high levels, you may want to think twice about purchasing metallic garden furniture. There have been some nasty burns primarily caused through the hot sun on metal garden furniture.

If you have decided on wood furniture, again bear in mind the temperatures that the furniture will be exposed to. You will need a lot more resilience to extremes of temperature than if you live in a more temperate climate.

Keep in mind also what the primary use of the garden furniture will be. If you are wanting to dine outdoors, for example, you may want to look at a design that incorporates a lazy susan, or revolving center. This makes the outdoor dining experience a lot more pleasurable, especially if your table is large.

If you are all out entertainers, make sure your garden furniture is either equipped with plenty of seating, or alternatively at a later date you could add individual pieces to it. Extra chairs, footstools, loungers and the like are often part of a larger set of which the basic setting is your first purchase.

Also, beware of glass tables. If you are interested in a glass table, make sure you also purchase an umbrella that will cover the circumference of the table. This is mainly to avoid the problem of glare from the sun.

It does not matter what you choose, the age old adage of "you get what you pay for" applies equally to garden furniture. If you are wanting something to stand the test of time and climate, you will end up paying accordingly. Once again, decide the purpose of use for the garden furniture, and you will not be disappointed.
Patio And Garden Furniture
Today the patio, particularly with a concrete floor, has become the most lived in room for many families. This is due in part to the fabulous patio garden furniture that is now available, as well as the functionality of this type of area. Patio garden furniture together with the specially designed patio chairs and patio cushions have been able to transform ordinary outdoor areas into extraordinary garden retreats. There is now no excuse for a poorly decorated patio area. With a little care and some decorating skills in choosing your patio garden furniture, this can become your favourite room in the house as well.

Outdoor living has become one of the new growth areas in home furnishings. More and more people are choosing to use their patio area not only for relaxation but also as the main entertaining area in their home. Because of this enormous growth the choices of patio garden furniture are huge. Conventional to traditional tastes are well catered for with an amazing variety of fabrics and finishes that can make the perfect outdoor setting. Patio cushions for example can now be purchased in waterproof and fade proof fabrics in a stunning variety of colours and patterns.

Often the garden is the area where a lot of people find the most enjoyment in their home. Many hours are spent lovingly tending to the never ending tasks of watering, clipping and planting. Walking through the patio doors into this much loved space is made even more enjoyable by the patio garden furniture that is placed in harmony within its environment.

Choosing patio garden furniture is dependent on many things. First to be considered is how much weather they will be subjected to. Even though a great deal of this type of furniture is able to withstand all sorts of weather conditions, some will obviously be far more suitable to your climate and conditions. You may also wish to choose a style of furniture to blend in with your home's dcor. Mediterranean styles of garden furniture for example are extremely popular in patios.

Choosing patio garden furniture should not be a problem for anyone. It doesn't matter what the budget is, there will be something available to suit your special area. Patio cushions and patio chairs for example can be bought by someone on the smallest of budgets. The materials that are now used for patio garden furniture are as exciting as any decorating fabrics. Wrought iron is still a favourite as well as cane, timber and the new hard wearing plastics.

Spending time on the weekend visiting garden centers and home and garden retailers is a great way to become acquainted with what's new in the patio garden furniture range. It will also give you a very good idea on how you can best utilize your space. Smaller areas can offer their own special challenges and it will mean a careful selection of furniture is required to make these areas appear larger and uncluttered.

It wasn't all that many years ago that patios were decorated by ordinary outdoor tables and chairs and perhaps the odd lounge. Nowadays there is no limit to the accessories and furniture that can be used to transform these areas. Patio cushions, as well as rugs and ornaments make this area a true extension of the home. Even patio heaters can keep the temperature cosy on those chilly winter nights.

There are many parts of the country that are mild enough for the patio to be used all the time. With weather conditions like this, the patio becomes a wonderful extension to the home. Comfortable patio garden furniture, particularly when it is combined with a concrete patio floor and lots of patio cushions makes for an idyllic setting to sit back and enjoy the fruits of the garden.
