If you are on a tight budget, then a Dinky is the type of guitar which is reasonably priced but is also high quality too. It would be a great guitar for a beginner who doesn't want to spend a fortune or those who are looking to control their costs but who also want a good guitar.
A Dinky has a double locking floyd rose temolo, which means you will never get out of tune no matter how hard you play. The alder body means that it will sound great, and the shark tooth inlays means that it looks like what a real rock guitar should.
The Jackson Dinky is a Superstrat-style double cutaway electric guitar. It is fitted with a two humbucker pickup configuration. Some models also include single coil pickups and/or just one bridge humbucker.
The fret board is usually finished in rosewood, ebony or maple and come with 24 jumbo frets. They have a locking nut for stable tuning and most Dinky's come with Floyd Rose or licensed temolo. Dinky's also have a bolt-on neck, and some have hardtail or Strong-Thru bridges.
A Jackson Dinky is usually played by hard rockers or those in heavy metal bands, and the guitar is meant to be played hard. Despite this, a Dinky can be played in other music niches very well.
In the USA Select Series there is one Dinky (DK1) but in the Pro series there are five models - the DK2L, DK2M, DK2S, DK2T and DK2FF. These DK2s are crafted from Alder and have a Maple bolt on neck. The fingerboard has 24 frets and is Rosewwod. They come with three Seymour Duncan pickups, two Single Coil and a third humbucker.
The Jackson MG series has three Dinky models - the DKMGT and the DXMG. The JS Series has four models - JS1, JS20, JS30DK and JS30DKT Hardtail. The Pro series Artist has two models - the Christian Olde Wolbers Signature and the Christian Olde Wolbers Signature 7-string, are found in the Pro Series Artist.
