-Brow start point, arch point, and end point should align on your face as follows: Holding a pencil vertically line up the outer edge of your nose straight up to your inner brow. This is where your inner brow should begin. Next, to find the proper location for your arch, line the pencil up with the outer edge of your nose and the outer band of color in your eye. The point in your brow at which the pencil touches when aligned with your outer nose and outer color band is the appropriate location for your brow arch. Finally, line the pencil up diagonally with the outer edge of your nose and the outer corner of your eye. The point at which the pencil hits your natural brow line when aligned with the outer edge of your nose and outer corner of your eye is the proper ending point of your brow line. If your brow does not naturally reach this far, pencil or powder your brow length to meet this point. Regardless of the final shape of the brow, and the height of the arch, the 3 points should line up in these areas.
-Over tweezing or waxing the brows can lead to permanent loss of brow hairs. It is best to only remove what is absolutely necessary so that you maintain a natural brow as you age.
-Your face is not symmetrical, so your brows will never be shaped exactly the same. Do not let this alarm you when waxing or tweezing! You can correct differences in your brows with proper shaping and makeup application.
-Eyebrow gel is not necessary for most people. Only worry with using it if you have unruly brows. If you need gel, choose a clear one and apply the gel after you've shaped and colored in your brows with pencil or powder. Go lightly! You will only need a tiny amount.
-Overly long brow hair should be trimmed. If you need to trim the length of the hairs, do not brush them up in order to trim. This will give you razored ends that do not look natural. Always brush long brow hairs down, trim, and brush back up.
-Thin eyebrows will age a woman faster than sunshine. Do not over-tweeze or over-wax your brows. Look at the shape and fullness of models? brows. If a more youthful appearance is your aim, thin brows are not an option. If you have extremely thin brows, use pencils and powders to add volume to them. You do not have to have huge brows in order to not have thin ones. It's all about balance.
Powdering/Penciling
-Before penciling or powdering your brow, use a spoolie or brow brush to brush the brows up, and then lightly over. Form the brow as you go.
-When penciling, use light, short, choppy strokes with the pencil. Do not draw on your eyebrows; this looks unnatural and is difficult to soften properly. Use light strokes with the pencil to build the brow you're looking for. When penciling, soften the brow you've created with a spoolie or brow brush and always lightly touch up with brow powder; this creates a more natural finish to your brows.
-If you have plenty of natural brow hair available to work with, you may want to opt out of penciling altogether and use only a brow powder. Pencils tend to not look as realistic as powders, so if you have a natural brow and do not need to create a brow for yourself, try using only powder. Use brow powder in an appropriate shade for your skin tone and hair color, and apply with a thin, firm angled brush. Use a spoolie or brow brush to soften the brow after you've applied the powder.
-When powdering, always tap your brush firmly before applying to your face. This rids the brush of excess powder which will make the brows look too heavy, and keeps you from getting tiny powder particles on other areas of your face.
-Consider the shape of your face when shaping your brows.
Brow Shapes
-Round brows make the face appear rounder. Harsh, sharp features are softened with a rounded brow.
-Angled brows will give a face-lift to aging, and sagging faces.
Soft Angled brows will also lift the appearance of the face but are less dramatic.
-Curved brows are thought to give a professional look to the face. Curved brows work well on most face shapes.
-Flat brows, though they are rarely completely flat, can help reduce the appearance of a very long face. Flat brows help make the face appear more oval. Although referred to as ?flat?, flat brows still have an arch point; the arch point is just very low and not as defined as other brow styles.
