Traditional bouquets are typically held together by plastic holders. These holders are very good for those with allergies or for the budget conscious bride. The plastic holder does not have to be plain or even seen by other people. Drooping flowers from the bouquet add a touch of elegance to the piece. Plants such as Irish moss or Ivy work wonderful as accents to bouquets. They can cover the plastic so that it is not seen by other people and is not seen as being tacky.



There are many other options for beautiful bridal bouquets as well. A flower ball is a creative unique way to compliment a bridesmaid's outfit. The floral ball is accentuated with a ribbon or a decorative rope. They can be very colorful elegant pieces. Another more chick sophisticated option. This style is perfect for roses and other dramatic colored flowers especially when it has been paired with a light colored ribbon.

Having a color pallet with more than one color is the best way to accentuate a floral arrangement. The ideal number of colors to work with is three. Two or less is too little and four or more can be too much. Having simply one or two colors can leave the look very two-dimensional. Four colors just leave it a blur like an miss designed rainbow. The three-color combination gives a well-rounded feel to the ensemble.

Traditional flowers in bouquets have usually been that of Roses, Lilies etc. Re think the flowers that are used. Consider sunflowers, daisies and even a few carnations (they make excellent fillers). These inexpensive flowers can make a unique creative floral arrangement. Heed the florist's warnings about looks. Sometimes if not designed right these inexpensive flowers can make a bouquet look cheap like it was something that was just picked up at the supermarket. Some florists cringe at the request of using baby's breath in a bouquet because that is such a common cheap looking filler. A better option for it are white prim roses, they are small and delicate. As well they make excellent fillers to any piece.

Also don't be afraid to make the bouquets do double duty. The bridal bouquet can be used as the centerpiece in the middle of the head table and the bridesmaid's pieces can be used at various points on the table as complimenting pieces. This saves time and money. The Bridal bouquets can also be placed at other points in the decor of the reception such as the gift table, next to the guest book and at other key points in the reception.

The floral bouquet is that little extra something that makes a Bride and her bridesmaids stand out to the guests and in the photographs. The design of the flowers are only limited by the imagination of the designers. The flowers my die but the memory of that design will live on.
