In 1978, Mario's granddaughter Miuccia Prada took control of the fashion house. She was an unlikely successor having been a former mime and with a PhD in political science. But it was Miuccia who was able to turn the company in the fashion power house that it is today.



Beyond the Prada's main brand, the company owns two other labels. The Miu Miu brand is a more simple label and the company's sports label is "Linea Rossa". Today, Prada is considered one of the most powerful fashion houses in the world.
