Mr. Lamb's novels, She's Come Undone (1992) and I Know This Much Is True (1998), were #1 New York Times bestsellers as well as New York Times Book Review ?Notable Books of the Year? and Oprah's Book Club selections. He is also the editor of Couldn't Keep It to Myself: Testimonies from Our Imprisoned Sisters, an anthology of autobiographical essays by incarcerated women.

Mr. Lamb is a past recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts grant for fiction and of the 1998 Governor's Arts Award, State of Connecticut. He was the director of the Writing Center at Norwich Free Academy, Norwich, Connecticut from 1989-1998, and is currently an Associate Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Connecticut's English Department. He holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Education from the University of Connecticut and an M.F.A. in Writing from Vermont College.
