Erectile Dysfunction
Leading a satisfying sex life is an important part of overall well being and healthy life. Erectile dysfunction or impotence affects most of the men at some point of time in their life. There are thousands of men, who quietly suffer from the condition in spite of the fact that it can now be dealt with.
Men and erectile dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction is seen to occur in men at any age. Studies show that this condition is more prominent among men who have crossed 65. There can be many mental and physical reasons, which can cause erectile dysfunction. Mental reasons such as stress, anxiety, spoiled relationships with partner may be the cause of impotence.
Many physical disorders such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and prostate diseases or surgeries, excessive use of alcohol and smoking may be the causes of impotence. However, most of the times, erectile dysfunction is caused due to the lack of blood flow in the penis, a reason which is beyond any men's control in absence of a proper treatment.
When a man gets aroused sexually, the brain instructs the release of certain chemicals in the body. Muscles of the corpora cavernora relax, which allows more blood to flow in the penis. This blood creates a pressure in the corpora cavernora, which holds the blood thereby ceasing the entry and exit of blood in the penis and creates an erection.
Erectile dysfunction is caused when the blood flow in the penis is not sufficient to impart a proper erection, which is long enough to complete the intercourse during sexual activity. Men face problems in achieving an erection or they loose it during or before the sexual activity is completed. Some men have no erection at all.
Effects of erectile dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction in the earlier times was not much spoken about. Men suffering from impotence seldom talked or discussed about it in public. Therefore, even today to quite an extent, men face embarrassment and develop inferiority complex and cannot talk or discuss this issue freely. It leads to depression in men and many failed marriages and relationships.
Erectile dysfunction and treatments
Impotence is now a treatable condition. Men can take prescription medications such as , Cialis and Levitra under advice of medical practitioner. They may help men to cope up with their erectile dysfunction. All of these medications provide proper blood flow to the penis and helps them get proper and lasting erections to complete the sexual activity.
Viagra is a product of Pfizer and has sildenafil as an active ingredient. Cialis is manufactured by Lilly ICOS and it has tadalafil as an active ingredient. GlaxoSmithKline manufactures Levitra and it has vardenafil as its active chemical ingredient.
Depending upon the severity of your impotence condition and the medical histories, your doctor may prescribe you a suitable dose of any of the above medications. These medications help you to cope with impotence, but they also do have some side effects. The severity of side effects may vary from man to man.
Just like millions of men all over the world, you too can treat impotence with these time tested medications.
