Military demographics deal with the study of military recruits according to the distribution of sex, age, ethnicity, educational level and income. The first step in military demographics is the collection of right data. The demographics information collected must be maintained and tracked over a long period of time for comparative and growth studies. Military personnel of the United States retire at a younger age than workers in the civilian sector. Only a small portion of the armed services requires the strength of youth. However, a larger portion of the armed services requires the maturity, experience, and technological skill. Military demographics are used in manning, equipping and training the military force.
