Situated not far from San Francisco, the Napa Valley is often called the Wine Valley. There is a travel route passing through the valley that one can accomplish in one day, this is the duration of almost all the tours which start in San Francisco. However, if your intent is to have a great relaxing holiday then Napa, which is rich in thermal springs has an abundance of different types of accommodation. The valley has the same name as the city situated here, and extends for about 30 miles. About 10 years ago visits to local pubs and bars became a Californian tradition although it was in 1850 some time after the "gold rush" started that Napa first became popular. Among those searching for gold there were those who realized what future the valley's climate and soil promised and, Napa valley became one of the largest producers of Californian table wines. The first vines were brought in by European immigrants, and nowadays there are several famous Czech wines produced in the valley. Napa is not just famous for it's wine, many people are tourists to the valley because of the great lifestyle it offers - relaxed atmosphere, great food, luxury hotels and inns, beautiful houses and hospitality! The valley's other main attraction is architecture. There is a big German and French influence throughout the region dating back to the 19th century when these immigrants founded large estates. Napa is a popular destination for people from all around the world as well as many Americans who are also crazy about the Valley. Apart from the vineyards they come for the thermal springs and mud-baths, nice restaurants and the laid back European-style. Taking route 29 through the valley you will come across numerous small towns and villages or you can enjoy the age of rail and take the "vine train" to St. Helena and back or perhaps a balloon ride at Yountville. In Oakville there is a jazz festival held every July, in Santa Helena you will find the Robert Louis Stevenson museum and in Calistoga there are thermal and mineral springs and a great golf course. You will find a wonderful experience in the Napa Valley.

Beautiful Napa Valley is in northern California, about an hour’s drive north of San Francisco. You can easily reach the valley from one of three airports: San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Oakland International Airport (OAK), and Sacramento Airport (SAC). The valley is home to more than 260 wineries, and is about 30 miles long and ranges from one to five miles wide.
There are many romantic honeymoon packages available to newlyweds coming to Napa Valley. These include winery tours, hot air balloon rides, train, boat, bike and golf packages. The least expensive tour that we found on line was the Flora Springs Cave Tour and Lunch at $45 per person, which includes a 90 minute winery and cave tour. Barrel-tasting and a picnic lunch on the vineyard patio are included in the price.
For $130 per person, you can board the world-famous Napa Valley Wine Train, eat a gourmet 4-course meal and enjoy a two hour, guided river cruise on the Napa River. A hot air balloon flight above Napa Valley will cost $220 per person and includes preflight coffee, juice and pastries as well as a post-flight champagne breakfast. And for those who want to see and do it all, there is the Balloon and Train Package that starts at $320 each. It includes all of the amenities of the $220 package in addition to the train ride, gourmet meal and complimentary wine tasting.
The Napa Valley Conference and Visitors Bureau is located in Napa, California and is open Monday-Sunday from 9am-5pm. Most tourists come during the summer or in the “crush" of harvest (September and October). There are far fewer people in the late fall, winter and spring. The valley is beautiful all year long and if you plan your honeymoon in the off-season, you will have much more time to chat with the winery staff.
