Traveling On A Cruise - Far From Boring
by Kurt Schefken, Kur
Have you considered taking a cruise holiday but think you'll be bored after a few days of being on a ship? You might even wonder why people choose to be "stuck" with a bunch of other tourists. Some people who have never traveled on a cruise think this way and they end up never taking one. Anyone who's ever been on a cruise will tell you that this is not the case and most will tell you that a cruise is a vacationing "must".
First off, some like the idea of doing "nothing"; they like the idea of just sunning and reading books. Cruises are perfect for this but if you're not one of those that like to do "nothing", there is so much more. You can do as little or as much as you want.
You may be thinking that a cruise ship is a "floating hotel" but they are much more than that; a "floating city" is more like it. They have pools (usually 3 or more), several dining options and gyms. If you're into fitness then there are also classes available such as aerobics and yoga and many water sport and deck activities. There are a number of entertainment options as well including comedy and cabaret style shows. For more nighttime entertainment there are various nightclubs and bars to appeal to several age groups.
You're sure to find things to keep you busy by just wondering around the enormous ship. There are information desks to help you find things that interest you and to help find your way around (you're sure to get lost).
If you're vacationing with kids then there are plenty of things to keep them occupied. Apart from the pool and deck activities there are also classes and arcades. You can enjoy family time together at the pool or give yourself alone time and let them explore on your own. If you're traveling with very young children then many cruise lines offer day care so you have time to enjoy the ships entertainment.
Visit a cruise line's website and you'll see all of the activities that are available. Websites have cruise itineraries and maps of their ships so you can research which cruise is best for you.
And then remember there are exciting ports of call that will sure to be fun and entertaining. The ship will have information on your ports of call so you can plan your excursion. They can even arrange tours and activities prior to arriving at the port.
With all of the options available, you won't be bored. In fact, you will probably get frustrated that you can't do everything you want!
