We've all had those questions in our business that either stop our train of thought or slow our level of productivity down. Ranging from product creation, affiliate marketing, teleseminars, financial matters, I know in my own business I've come upon hundreds of business questions that I wish I could know the answer to. So, in this article I am going to answer two questions I've had about affiliate marketing.
Lets start with the first question:
What is the best way to promote that you are an affiliate of?
There are a number of different ways to promote somebody else's products. Using teleseminars is a very effective way. Using videos is another effective way. Doing solo email campaign, that is just as effective as well. So there are many different ways to do it.
It is the impact or response that you are looking for from your promotion, so I would suggest using teleseminars. They are much more intimate and people enjoy being able to interact and it also gives you the opportunity to really address the value of the product. Videos is another tool that I use a lot when promoting other people's product and have had great response from them.
When it comes to promoting products as an affiliate, I personally only promote products that I have either bought myself, used myself or benefited from myself, and the reason being is because then I can truly give my personal opinion and evaluation of the product.
If I am going to promote a product that I haven't even seen or used, how could I really give a recommendation for it? You'll find that it will sometimes put you in an awkward situation if you don't know anything about the product but are promoting it. This helps too when it comes to the promotion because it is much easier and more convincing to say, "Hey, I've used this product. Look at what it did for my business, I really think it will help you this way." You stand out more as an affiliate and create a much stronger pitch then just saying, "Hey, saw this new product, I think you should go get it."
Video, teleseminar and email campaigns are three ways that you could promote someone else's product as an affiliate, but use your creativity and think about your market to know what may work better.
Here is the second question:
What is a good percentage to offer someone whose list is very attractive to what you are trying to sell?
It depends. Affiliates and JV partners, naturally, they are going to want to be able to get as much as they can and the more you give the more an incentive it is for them, the more they want to promote. Likewise, you have to look at your profitability. In some cases, you cannot afford to give away massive amounts of your revenue because it does not make sense when you are looking at the product cost, the time cost and that nature.
Take some time, really think about how much you can afford to give away and try to maximize this as much as possible because affiliate and JV partners will be more interested the bigger the commission.
