Ensure that your pens look like they would fit with the interior of your office. If the majority of your company’s workspace looks like something from a Dilbert comic then you are going to want to go with something in neutral tones that matches the sedate look of your offices. If your business or organisation happens to be a trendy young at heart bar or state of the art vibrant nightclub then picking neutral colors would be doing a disservice to both your company and your future customer base. Decisions are not always as clear cut as these two examples however, there are small business crossover cases like say a trendy flower shop. Common sense would dictate that a flower shop would want more sedate promotional pens, maybe in pastels or neutral tones, however the people patronizing this shop go there because of the modern edgy flower arrangements. In this case it is best to target your most likely customers rather than the nature of the business. If the majority of clients are hip older people then striking jewel tones might be appropriate, however if young professionals make up the majority of this shops clients then something a little more daring may be in order for your promotional printed pens.
