Shopping for toys online comes around Christmas time, although there are plenty of other times when you check out what sales are online because you are pressed for time or have limited access to an actual store. The great thing about shopping online is that you do not have to take your children to the store with you when you go.



I have roughly 25 nieces and nephews; yes I come from a huge family. I work a full-time job and don't have a lot of time to shop. I take full advantage of shopping for toys online. I have a lot of fun looking over all of the neat things that are out there for kids today.

I utilize online stores quite often, especially when I'm on the hunt for toys. Toys shopping during the holidays is more painful than pulling teeth.

If I had physically gone around purchasing them, I would have had to travel all over the world, because some of the toys came from other countries. One little tip, be sure you order your toys in enough time to receive the delivery for you to wrap them up for Christmas or the other event you are getting toys. Sometimes the sites will offer gift-wrap for a few extra dollars. You may find that to be worth the investment.

Here are some tips to use when you are shopping for toys online:

1. Do your research. Use the Internet as your tool to read the toys and find out if they are what you are seeking.

2. Ensure your toy is safe. Check with sites like the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in order to see if it has been listed as hazardous.

3. Visit the known toy sites in order to get quality products.

4. Compare the prices on toys. If you really want to get the best deal, compare the toy you are looking at on two or three sites to get the cheapest one.

5. Once you know that site that you want to look at a good idea is to call their phone number to see if they have that toy in stock.

6. If you are buying more than one toy, check out the sites to see which one offers multiple shipping discounts for you.

7. Check to see if you are located in the same state as the seller. If you are not then by law, you cannot be charged sales tax if they are in a different state than you live.

8. Check the shipping charges on your toy before you order. Some sites are actually lower than others.

Watch for coupons for discounts on toys. Some do exist for what you are buying.

9. Auction sites are a great place to buy toys. Before you bid on a toy during an auction, be sure to check their feedback. You do not want to deal with someone who could be fraudulent.

No matter how you do it, shopping for toys does take some work. Going to a store physically takes a lot of time out of your day and a lot of energy to get through the store. However, if you shop for toys online it will take some mental work to be sure you get the best deal.
