How do you receive love when it occurs? Have you ever taken time out to imagine what is love? The Bible requires us to love one another just as we love ourselves. But what does significant love feel like to you?



Is it when you get that attractive glance from your Friend?

Is it when you open an unexpected gift from that someone special?

Is it when your friend calls and offers you come over and help you when you’re struggling with a deadline?

Is love a long quiet walk together on the beach at sunset? Or a quiet meal for two, with your favorite music, champagne and candles?

Is it doing all the fun and exciting things together, from ball games to laughing together?

Is it discovering new truths together and growing closer, as you share great books and movies?

Is , even when no-one even observed or praised you?

Or is love when in the middle of a busy and difficult day a dirty little smile beams: “I cut this for you mommy" offering you a bunch of wilting flowers from your garden?

Is love that which gives you adrenaline, especially if it’s exciting, dangerous or risque?

in other words

“How do you perceive it? Would you "get" it if it stared you in the face? Allow me to motivate you for a moment to think about it and write down for yourself how you see it.

We don't often stop to think about it, and many of us simply suppose that we either know the answers to these questions, or that they are obvious and that everybody knows them anyway!

Or else we assume that we don’t need to be certain about them or that no one can in fact know for sure – ever: After all, Love just happens – if you are lucky – or it doesn’t if you’re not. And that’s that! Sometimes we think it has nothing to do with luck, but rather all to do with destiny and that you were either meant to have it or not. You were either born blond and pretty with just the right eyes and build, and therefore you have it or otherwise you do not! Maybe you have the privileged parents, Or the social status and so you will automatically receive love.

But hang on: If we don’t even receive what love is or how we’ll perceive it, how can we even begin? Well, you cannot startto find anything out about love if you do not even know what it is or how you will recognize it! Just as you cannot look at a map and hope to find your way to a city, whose name you can't even pronounce, nor recognize or it’s known landmarks. We must first know exactly what we are searching for and how to clearly recognize love. Take a moment now to consider love.
