The decision to give someone an engagement ring is potentially one of the biggest decisions of a person's life.  This is because an engagement ring represents the notion that one person is declaring their love to another and wants to spend the rest of their life with them.  The eventual aim is to get married and as the fairytale depicts live happily ever after.  This is all well and good but before they can get marred they must first get engaged.

Times have changed an awful lot in recent times.  In the past, it was custom for men to propose to women, first with an engagement ring and later with a wedding ring.  What is considered the norm is very debatable these days however.  Since the suffragette movement in the early part of the 20^th Century, women have fought for equality.  In terms of getting married, more women than ever before are proposing to men.

Choosing the right engagement ring is tough.  Why?  No matter how much a person thinks they know their partner, they will never be able to know exactly what their other half wants in terms of an engagement ring ? unless of course it has been pointed out several times!  So deciding on what engagement ring to buy can be a very tough decision.  One must give very careful consideration to their chosen engagement ring and hope that it reflects what their other half wants.

The engagement ring market is bigger than ever before and as a result the choice follows suit.  There are many types of engagement rings, with types based around the material of the ring, the shape of the ring itself, the brand and they style.  The rings themselves range in price to suit the customer's requirements but since this is an act of love more than anything else, the person buying it will wan it to be the right engagement ring therefore money, to an extent, becomes no object.   Retailers stock large amounts of engagement rings as they know they are very popular items and as so many people across the globe love to get married, there is always going to be a market for them.

The Right Ending

Once the right engagement ring has been carefully chosen and bought, the person buying it can give it to their loved one.  Many people propose in various ways, sometimes from a special spot that means a lot to both of them such as the location of their first date, whilst others propose in romantic locations such as the Eiffel Tower of the spa baths in Iceland.  Wherever the proposal however, with the right engagement ring and love obviously playing its part, eternal happiness becomes destiny.
