Rights Of The Disabled

People with disability are protected by both state and federal laws. In the state of California, there are existing states and federal laws that help ensure protection of the rights of people with disabilities. This article will discuss some of these laws so that people will be aware, not only those that are disabled, but also the citizens.

Disability laws for:

?Private and non-profit businesses

The Federal and state law give disabled people the right to gain full and equal access to everyday activities usually done in establishments where the general public is invited, such as:

?Enjoying a meal at a restaurant

?Buying an item at the grocery store

?Getting their car serviced in stations

?Watching a movie in a theater

?Exercising at the health club

Businesses that serve the public are subject to the Americans with Disabilities Act or ADA and other disability rights laws.

According to the Title III of ADA, private and non-profit businesses, sometimes referred to as Public Accommodations, have responsibilities for newly constructed or altered facilities and already existing ones. They may also have obligations in housing, employment and other areas that are protected from discriminatory practices.

Some of the public accommodations include the following:

?Theaters

?Restaurants

?Schools

?Private museums

?Recreation facilities

?Shops

?Bars

?Stores

?Hotels

?Service establishments

?Government agencies

Under the state and federal law, government agencies, or sometimes referred to as public entities, must give an equal opportunity to disabled individuals to benefit from or take part in its programs. Regardless of funding sources, the laws apply to all state and local government activities, services, and programs.

Program access for public entities is not limited only to making the facilities physically accessible to disabled individuals but also include the following:

?Proper protocols for public meeting

?Effective communication practices

?Accessible signage

?Designation of a reliable employee to serve as contact for grievances or concerns

?Other aspects of program services not limited to physical accessibility

To ensure effective communications with disabled individuals, public entities are required to equip suitable auxiliary aids and services.

Auxiliary aids include the following:

?Brailled materials

?Taped texts

?Captioning

?Large print materials

Government agencies or public entities must rely to all non-discrimination laws concerning employment of individuals with disabilities.

?Employment

According to the state and federal law, individuals with disability have the right to have an opportunity to participate in the process of employment.

The California disability rights law gives protections in regards to employment, separate from those in ADA. Also, California's definition of disability is much broader than the standard of the Federal.

The law pertains to non-profit and private businesses, and also to the government.

Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA)

The law that deals with the rights of persons with disabilities and the responsibilities of employers in the state of California is the Fair Employment and Housing Act or FEHA. This law prohibits discrimination because of an individual's disability in all aspects of housing. It also provides protection from discriminatory practices or harassment in employment.

Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act

The Federal law that is concerned with disabled individuals' rights is the Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. Title I requires employers to provide an equal opportunity for disabled individuals who are qualified to benefit from all employment-related opportunities that are available to others who do not have any disabilities. This applies to employers who have 15 or more employees.

There are still a lot of state disability laws, and also federal laws, that has not been discussed but too many to contain in this article.

To sum it all up, these laws were created to protect the rights of persons with disabilities, their right to live a normal life, that they should not be hindered because of their impairments to do what everyone else does as long as they have the capacity to do so.

Rights Of The Disabled

Before dealing with the topic of the Crooked in Quran versus Bible versus sciences, it is mandatory to remember that the total words in the Bible are 788,280 while the total words in the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible is more than 10 times the Quran word-wise.

The Crooked is mentioned 16 times in the Bible and nine times in the Quran, i.e. the Bible mentions the Crooked about twice as does the Quran

In other words, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times (word-wise) and twice (subject-wise) than the Quran to talk about the Crooked.

The children of Israel are perverse and crooked generation

Deuteronomy 32:5

They have corrupted themselves; their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.

Philippians 2:15

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

The Israelites: The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths

You will realize that the Bible will contradict itself and will say that the crooked will be made straight.

Also, that which is wanting can be numbered!

That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.

He hath made my paths crooked.

Lamentations 3:9

He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone; he hath made my paths crooked.

The crooked shall be made straight

Isaiah 40:4

Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight and the rough places plain:

And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

Leviticus 21:18-21

21 No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.

The Crooked in the Quran:

What the Prophet "shu'aib" said to his people?

The Prophet "shu'aib" is not mentioned in the Bible!

Surah: 7, Verse: 86

Do not sit in every road, threatening and barring from the path of Allah those who believed it, nor seek to make it crooked. Remember how he multiplied you when you were few in number. Consider the end of the corrupters.

Surah: 3, Verse: 99

Say: 'people of the book, why do you bar he who believes from the path of Allah and seek to make it crooked, when you yourselves are witnesses (to Allah's guidance)? Allah is not unaware of what ye do.

Those who prefer this life more than the everlasting life= the great error

Surah: 14, Verse: 3

Those who prefer this life more than the everlasting life and bar others from the way of Allah and seek to make it crooked they are in a great error.

Those who bar others from the path of Allah and desire to make it crooked, they disbelieve in the everlasting life.

Surah: 11, Verse: 19

Those who bar others from the path of Allah and seek to make it crooked, they disbelieve in the everlasting life.

Surah: 7, Verse: 45

Those who have barred others from the path of Allah and sought to make it crooked, they are the disbelievers in the everlasting life.

There is no crookedness in the Quran:

Surah: 18, Verse: 1

All praise belongs to Allah, who has sent down the book to his worshiper (His servant, the Prophet Muhammad) and has not made any crookedness in it,

Surah: 39, Verse: 28

It is an Arabic Quran without any crookedness that they may guard (against evil)

The everlasting life is True and

There is no crookedness at the Day of Judgment

Surah: 20, Verse: 107 and 108

107: Nothing crooked or curved wilt thou see in their place.

108: on that day, they will follow the summoner, who is not crooked, their voices hushed before the merciful, and you shall hear nothing except a murmuring.
