Safety First Baby Monitors

    View:
Are you experiencing anxiety when you are away from your baby even though they are in the next room? Guess what? You are not alone. Thousand of families everywhere have discovered Baby Monitors to help watch over their newborns and older babies. Thanks to the growth of technology, baby monitors now have more fancier features, are easier to use, and are packed with features from sensing movement, sound and even with the opportunity to use video monitors for watching over the baby.

Prenatal monitors and baby video monitors are becoming more popular. The whole purpose of a baby monitor or video monitor is to give you peace. Think about sitting on the back porch enjoying a cup of tea and still be able to monitor your baby and their surroundings. If someone ask you what you want at your baby shower, a baby monitor makes a great gift.

What does a basic baby monitor look like? Quite frankly, the basic monitor is the perfect model to get started with. The set should consist of a Parent unit that includes a rechargeable base and rechargeable battery. In addition to the parent unit, it should have a Child unit (transmitter) with a backup battery in case of power failure. Most, but not all of the units will have a reliable auto-channel scanning selector. The best channel to use is the over the 2.4 GHz. Don't buy a unit whose frequency is below 2.4 GHz. The baby monitors with digital technology will eliminate interference and provides a secure and private transmission.

The non-digital monitors are available but try not to buy one. The digital is worth the few extra dollars. You want the freedom to roam so check the range for at least a 650 foot range plus an out-of-range audible indicator. The AC adapter is mandatory.

Perhaps you need something more than they basic baby monitor, then consider the baby video monitor. The baby monitors on the market today are safe and more important - reliable. If you find yourself strapped for cash, you can find some from parents who got 2 in a shower and are willing to sell it cheaper than what you would pay at the store.

There are also used ones from parents who no longer need them. Most of these units have been taken care of. A word of caution, make sure the unit comes from a smoke free environment. I have seen units where the baby unit was white and the parent unit was brown. This was a great example of what smoking does to your lungs. Sorry, another subject for another time.

I can't think of a gadget that will give you more freedom once the baby is put down to rest. Owning one is more of a necessity instead of "it would be nice". Within a day, you will be so glad that you did.

Owning a baby video monitor is pretty cool. They certainly cost more but you get to watch what your baby is doing. You will get a kick out of it every time. If you baby is sick, the video monitor gives you an opportunity to watch over your child while you also do some other chores or even take a rest. There are color and black and white baby video monitors available. It is your choice at to what works best for you.

The color monitors are my favorite. Do you watch a black and white TV? No, then buy the color?

The screens are not really big but they are more than adequate to meet your needs. As more color monitors come on the market, the price will go down. It would surprise me that before long you will be able to take a still shot of your sleeping or playing child.

Pre-natal monitoring is another area that many parents may be interested in. You can hear your baby's heartbeat. Some of the units allow you to play music to the baby. It is suppose to soothe them. I find them interesting. It is something special to listen to that heart beat.

The days of tip toeing into the nursery to check on the baby are over with if you own a baby monitor. No more waking up the baby when you are just trying to make sure everything is alright. The baby monitor is a worthwhile tool for new parents who want and demand the ability to monitor their child. For freedom and movement around the home plus rest, a baby monitor becomes a much needed nursery accessory.
Safety First Baby Monitors
Baby monitors are an innovative and path breaking device that helps parents and guardians keep a tab on their babies in situations when they are not around them. They can listen to sounds and at times even view their baby's movements using this gadget. This will immediately alert you when the baby cries, needs your immediate attention or even help you watch over the baby when he sleeps.

Baby monitors these days come with various features that not only increase their efficiency, but also makes them user friendly. The main characteristic of baby monitors is their mobility. One part i.e. the transmitter is supposed to be kept close to the bay, while the receiver is meant to be carried along by the mother. The transmitter can be easily plugged in near the baby and the receiver can be either plugged or be made mobile. It is better to go in for the mobile variety instead of the stationary one to enhance the mobility factor of the device.

Some baby monitors come with multiple monitors, so that both parents can carry a receiver each, and keep one as a back up monitor as well. This enables parents to have a baby monitor handy, if required, or use one while the other gets charged. Video monitors are increasingly becoming popular, as they allow parents not only to see their baby but also hear his voice. Baby monitors with the video facility allows parents the delight of watching the playful antics of their little one despite being away from them. Some monitors also have the provision of viewing the baby via a webcast.

The walkie talkie feature is another fun feature that bis available in baby monitors. This allows parents to talk to the baby and even play music for the baby. In other words, it allows parents to communicate with the baby. Parents can use this feature to calm the baby if he is perturbed or crying, and even have conversations with him when he is old enough to talk.

Baby monitors come with a number of accessories like remote controls, rechargeable batteries and even musical monitors. One of the most important things to check while buying baby monitors is the quality of sound. These fun features have not only added to the appeal and usability of baby monitors, but have also helped parents take care of their infants in a better way.
