Out of all the different countries in the world, Thailand is still considered to be one of the most exciting places to visit. Renowned for its huge shopping malls, elephant rides and exotic adult clubs, Thailand also offers wonderful scuba diving sites. Dive Thailand has fast become a favorite destination for many people looking for dive holidays and sites.

October to April is the best time to visit Thailand because any other time out of this period falls during their rainy season. Another good reason is that Thailands water temperature does not fluctuate often as it is a tropical country.

Phuket Scuba Diving

The largest Island in Thailand is Phuket. It has fast become one of the destinations of choice by many tourists to Thailand. With its rich underwater ecosystem, Phuket is a great place for scuba diving. From reefs to wrecks and even underwater volcanoes, dive Phuket has it all. The waters surrounding Phuket is also full of marine life such as coral, fish, turtles, dolphins, sharks and even whales. A few of the more popular dive sites in Phuket include the Similan Islands, Shark Point, King Cruiser Wreck and the Andaman Wreck.

Hin Mouang

Famous for its pelagic fish, Hin Mouang is one of the more famous diving destinations in Thailand. Breathtaking and simply magnificent are just a few words to describe the underwater peaks, large fish shoals, pretty carpets of anemone, gigantic corals, gorgonians and other extravagant sights that call this place home.

Dive Hin Daeng

Hin Daeng is another unique site and is fairly close to Hin Mouang. Morays, octopi, shrimps, crayfish, gray reef and leopard sharks, and barracudas are the most common creatures you are most likely to encounter here. Manta rays, whale sharks and nurse sharks often visit this area.

Koh Kraden Wreck Diving

Just off the coast of Koh Kraden lies the Koh Kraden wreck. Its fame comes from the fact that it is a sunken Japanese destroyer. Over the years, it has become a breeding ground for flora and fauna. Other marine creatures that frequent this site include sea horses, giant morays, soft corals, lion fish and great schools of fish.

Diving Koh Dok Mai

A dive location well known mainly for night diving is Koh Dok Mai. Inhabitants of this dive site include sea urchins, lobsters, moray eels, leopard sharks and sea snakes. This is a great place for a totally different diving experience.

With a lot to offer, dive Thailand is perfect for scuba divers. Do consider going there when you plan your next diving trip because you are sure to enjoy very minute of it.

Scuba Diving The Bends

Scuba diving isn't a hobby that one can just take on or go into without getting the necessary training and examination. For starters, prospective divers should know the basic swimming lessons. However, even the best swimmer in the world still has to undergo scuba diving training and make the grade.

One thing common to scuba divers is their love for nature and the bounties of the sea. But just like mountain climbers, scuba divers should make sure that when they dive, they take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints or its equivalent in diving lingo. This is to make sure that they preserve the underwater environment for future divers.

Scuba diving hasn't always been available as a hobby for ordinary people because of the constraints in going several feet underwater. Men aren't like fish that have gills and can breathe underwater so it took the invention of the scuba or the self contained underwater breathing apparatus in the 1930s before men were allowed to scuba dive.

Future scuba divers are urged to join organizations that can help them with their training and with safety methods in scuba diving. These organizations conduct regular check ups on the capabilities and efficiency of their scuba diving members so they at least meet the standards required by the hobby.

Scuba diving can be expensive so it is always best to join groups to minimize the costs. It is becoming a worldwide hobby so it easy to make contact with scuba divers in any part of the globe.

Scuba divers can also make contact with their counterparts all over the world by joining forums where they can ask questions, give out information or just simply exchange experiences with their colleagues.

Scuba diving is a niche group and most of the scuba divers in a certain area basically know everyone. It is important to join scuba diving forums to keep in touch with what everyone is doing in the scuba diving world.

A scuba diver who needs some equipment not available in his area can join a scuba diving forum and see if his fellow scuba divers can suggest where to purchase such equipment. Some scuba divers may also be selling their own equipment and where else to get such information than in scuba diving forums?
