Shop For Auto Parts

    View:
All drivers need auto insurance and nobody has the right to drive on the road without auto insurance, and if you're caught driving without insurance then you face fines and possible lose of your license. If you get into an accident your license will automatically be taken regardless of it you have insurance or not and if you're at fault for the accident then you will face fines and possibly jail time. Car insurance is important and taken very seriously so it's vital that you have the proper insurance.

When you begin shopping for insurance as a first time driver the rates are going to be generally high, and the only to help the price is if you took a driving course. By taking a driving course you're considered to be less of a threat when driving and therefore your insurance will be lower then that of somebody who didn't take a driving course and instead just got their license. Regardless of whether you took a course or not car insurance is still very costly, and you'll need to make sure you can handle the payments each month.

There is a lot of competition in the auto insurance industry therefore you should be able to shop around quite a bit and locate the deals. You'll find that the price differs quite a bit when you're shopping for car insurance and this is why it's important that you do in fact shop around. You'll ideally want to find a company that has a solid standing reputation for offering car insurance and also have reasonable rates. You don't want to get insurance with the smallest and cheapest company because auto insurance fraud is through the roof and millions are scammed each year with fake car insurance. Simply this happening to you by buying an insurance policy through a company that has many customers and a solid reputation. You might pay a bit more but at least you can rest assured you have legal and legit insurance papers in case you ever get into an accident.

Once you feel you've found the right company make sure you research it a little bit and then send in your information for a quote. Many auto insurance companies allow for quotes to be requested online so this way you can fill out a few simple forms and get many quotes. Some websites specialize in auto insurance quotes and one form will send you quotes from more then one company, these are great to use when comparing companies, but make sure if you plan on buying a policy after reading one of the quotes that you research the company a bit to make sure there legitimate. Auto insurance does cost quite a bit but it could be what saves you from going to jail or experiencing financial hardship due to an accident. You'll need to make monthly premium payments on your auto insurance and it shouldn't be too much. If you sign-up as an optional driver with your parents you might pay around $1000 a year and if you sign up as a full-time driver on your own policy you might be looking at $2500-$4000 a year.
Shop For Auto Parts
Inevitably, if you own a vehicle you will eventually need parts for it. It doesn't matter if your car is 30 years old or 5 years old, sometimes you have to get additional replacement parts even if it is something as simple as a light bulb. Whatever the case may be, there are numerous places you can look into to find the parts but you want to try to find them at the best price as well.

Many people feel compelled to pay the price for brand new parts if they have a newer vehicle and if they shop at their dealer or at a local auto parts store they will probably pay the highest price possible. The thing to remember however is that there are probably tons of cars just like yours with the same parts that will work perfectly on your car lying around in wrecking yards or even on the internet. The best thing about this is that these parts can be found at a fraction of the cost of a new part and in most cases will work just as good and last just as long.

For vehicles that are only ten years old or so you will be able to find all kinds of parts for them at a local auto wrecker. They usually have a plethora of parts like windshields, mirrors, radiators, wheels, and even motors! You can save a ton of money this way. I remember having to buy a shift assembly for a Dodge Neon for my son, the dealer wanted nearly $200, I got it at a local salvage yard for $20 and they removed it for me! Some of the better ones will even have the parts they have available listed on a computer so all you have to do is ask if they have the part or not.

If you have an older vehicle it is sometimes difficult to find the part at a reasonable price due to supply and demand and the fact that they just don't keep that many parts around for vintage vehicles. If this is your situation the best place may be the internet. There are numerous online parts stores that will have access to parts like these and if all else fails you can also try eBay. I have had great success finding parts for rare vehicles there.

If you own a vehicle that was made in the early sixties or before you will probably have a tough time finding parts that are inexpensive. In most cases the parts will be rare and difficult to find and the rarer they are the more they are going to cost. It may be best to check all of the salvage yards in your area first, and then check out used car locaters online who may be able to help you find what you are looking for. Many of these sources have networks of parts houses that may have what you need.
