Similasan Cataract Eye Drops

    View:
Over the last ten years, Dr. Mark Babizhayev and his team of Russian medical researchers have continued to observe the ongoing beneficial effects of this breakthrough cataract eye drop. In clinical trials conducted, it showed that patients instilled with two drops of the 1% N-acetylcarnosine (Can-C™) eye drops twice daily for a period of 6 months showed vast improvement in their pre-existing eye conditions. The effective rate was a reported 100%. These results led to the patent and manufacture of the product providing a long awaited, safe and effective alternative to cataract surgery.

How do Can-C™ eye drops actually reverse cataracts? This eye drop with a proprietary form of N-acetylcarnosine acts as a carrier for the di-peptide, carnosine. Carnosine which is naturally present throughout the human body decreases in level as each person advances in age which contibutes to the onset of age-related problems such as cataract. Carnosine is both a known antioxidant and glycation inhibitor. When it comes to ocular disease such as cataract, eye drops are the most direct delivery route to the source of the problem, which is the ocular lens. In the form of N-acetyl-carnosine, this normally insoluble lipid, carnosine, becomes lipid soluble thus gaining entrance into the lipid membrane of both the corneal and lens cells. This bioavailability of N-acetylcarnosine at the cellular level and its ultimate release of the carnosine molecule is what results in the reported beneficial effects on the eye.

What is the difference between N-acetylcarnosine and L-carnosine? Firstly, studies show that only N-acetylcarnosine is clinically proven to be suitable for eye use. Unfortunately L-carnosine when administered topically on its own is destroyed by the enzyme, carnosinase, a dipeptidase present in blood plasma. Due to this, simple L-carnosine eye drops are not suitable for topical application to the eye.

Can-C™ eye drops with N-acetylcarnosine are not only effective in the treatment of cataract but have been shown to be beneficial for other eye problems such as open-angle primary glaucoma, computer vision syndrome, dry eye syndrome, retinal disease, complications of diabetes mellitus and other systemic diseases, etc. Can-C™ has been reported to have virtually no negative side effects however when using other eye medications it is always recommended to consult first with your eye care specialist.

With the release of the Can-C™ product into the market supported by the clinical study results, various medical and pharmaceutical companies quickly released copycat cataract eye drop solutions containing N-acetylcarnosine. Dr. Mark Babizhayev the senior research investigator with Innovative Vision Products cautions consumers to be wary of these random formulations. The successful clinical results were dependent upon a highly specific purity factor of the raw material itself or rather, the precise content of the transition metal ion traces. This patent protected refinement of the Can-C™ N-acetylcarnosine raw material, with a Japanese chemical company, is what ultimately resulted in the anti-cataract successes achieved and long term safety. It is only this proprietary form of N-acetylcarnosine raw material that will ever be used in Can-C™ and this purity factor remains proprietary to Innovative Vision Products. Fortunately there is a simple way for consumers to verify if they have purchased the clinically proven formula patented by Innovative Vision Products as the following statement is printed on each and every box, "Approved by Innovative Vision Products." To obtain the desired long-term efficacy and safety of this eye drops be sure to purchase Can-C™ and be sure to look for this statement on the side panel of the box "Approved by Innovative Vision Products (IVP)".

Senile cataracts are a visual impairment brought about by the gradual and progressive thickening of the ocular lens which leads to the loss of lens' transparency, slowly diminishing a person's ability to see clearly. The term 'senile' is often used simply because this disease primarily affects aging people usually in the age group, 50 and above. Cataract is characterized by the opacification of the ocular lens which can be seen as a cloudy appearance of the lens, usually yellowish or brownish in color. A person affected with cataracts may also have noticeable brownish tinted vision. Other symptoms would include blurriness of vision glare sensitivity, problems with night vision, double vision or multiple images in one eye, accompanied by the need for frequent changes in eyeglass or contact lens prescription strength.

In the U.S. alone, at least 300, 000 - 400, 000 new cataract cases occur annually. This disease is a common cause of blindness in elderly people when not treated. A comprehensive eye examination which includes visual acuity test (vision exam at various distances), dilated eye exam and tonometry (measurement of the pressure inside the eye) is needed to detect cataracts. The most common treatment is surgery in which the cloudy lens is removed and replaced with an artificial lens called intraocular lens (IOL). Intraocular lens is a clear plastic lens which can focus light clearly on to the retina once again. Cataract surgery is not totally without risk however, as opacification of the posterior lens capsule occurs in 30-50% of patients within 2 years of surgical cataract removal and require secondary laser treatment; further 0.8% experience retinal detachments, approximately 1% are re-hospitalized for corneal problems, and about 0.1% develop endophthalmitis.

The use of Can-C™ eye drops containing this unique purity of, N-Acetylcarnosine, in safely managing cataract is a major advancement in the medical world. For the first time, cataract can now be effectively reversed without having to resort to the risks of eye surgery.

N-Acetylcarnosine or NAC is a molecule that's found naturally in the human body. Its parent compound, carnosine, can be naturally found in foods and in human cells. Carnosine is found primarily in the tissues of the heart, skeletal muscles, the brain and in and throughout eye. This natural di-peptide (two amino acids linked together) acts as an antioxidant and as an inhibitor of the body's glycation process which is a degenerative chemical process that contributes to aging throughout the body. As we age our natural carnosine levels decreases which leave the eye vulnerable to ocular disease such as cataracts. Unfortunately oral consumption of carnosine rich foods or supplements is not bioavailable to the eyes and so restoring these levels systemically is not reliable.

In Russia, where carnosine deficiency in the eyes was first discovered as a fundamental precursor to ocular disease, the use of topical N-acetylcarnosine; to effectively address cataracts in the form of Can-C™ eye drops was established.

In 2001, Can-C™ eye drops were trialed in a; double blind, placebo based, human study for a period of 6 months. The impressive results showed that 90% had visual acuity improvement, 88.9% had glare sensitivity improvement and 41.5 % had an improvement in the transmissivity of the lens.

With the market release of the product by Innovative Visions Product (IVP), 7 years ago, thousands of people affected with senile cataracts have reported vast improvement in their vision after applying Can-C™ cataract eye drops for a period of 6-12 months.

Dr. Mark Babizhayev, MA, PhD, the principal researcher in the development of Can-C™ eye drops cautions consumers before purchasing any eye drops containing N-acetylcarnosine to look for the words, "Approved by Innovative Vision Products" on the label. This is your assurance that the product contains the proprietary purity of raw material and is the formula that was proven to have long-term efficacy in clinical trials.
