As I've stated in previous articles, fall is one of my favorite times of the year. Only in fall will you see beautiful foliage, and the many other things that go along with the fall season. While most people choose the warmer spring and summer seasons for their weddings, some people still choose to have fall weddings, celebrating the fall colors and more temperate temperatures. Fall has some of the most beautiful colors, dark oranges, greens and browns.
If are planning a fall wedding, you may have everything you need from colors to foods and everything in between, but wedding favors are always another matter. Having some wonderful fall wedding favors to go along with your fall wedding theme will not only be a treat for your guests, but a celebration of Fall and of your wedding. Here are some great ideas of places to start.
The Smells of Fall
One of the great things about the fall season are are the many smells and scenes of fall. You can easily bring these smells into your wedding reception, as well as incorporate them into your wedding favors. Visit any candle shop and pick out your favorite fall scent. Mine happens to be pumpkin spice, to me, it just isn't fall without that scent. Pick up enough small candles for each guest, tie ribbons around each candle or place each one in an organza bag, and place one at each place setting. If you like, you can also buy small candle holders for each guest as well and forgo wrapping each candle individually, the choice is yours.
Another idea is to have some fall scented candles burning around the room during your wedding reception. It will be a treat for your guests, and they can take the scent home with them to remember your wedding.
Using Gourds
Another aspect of fall that makes the season stand out so much are pumpkins and other kinds of gourds. While many are great just as decorations, pumpkins can be used for both. Another great idea for an original wedding favor is to purchase miniature pumpkins and place one at each place setting so that each of your guests can decorate their homes with a little bit of fall as well.
Famous Fall Treats
A favorite treat in the fall season are candied apples, and it is also something that you can make easily in your home. Buy bags of apples and caramel, and make a party out of it. Invite some friends over to help, and be sure to bring plenty of other goodies to put on the apples, such as nuts or chocolate sauce. Then you can all make them together and decorate each one differently. Wrap them each individually and they will last for some time. Not only that, but they will be a feast for the eyes on your wedding tables as well.
Simple And Elegant Wedding
If you spend a little time examining this internationally prized material, you will soon understand why teak furniture cost a little bit more compared to other wooden furniture.
In today's market, there are many different types of wood that are used to create furniture. Some are hard wood, and some are soft wood. Hard wood is usually more durable compared to soft wood. But the nature of the wood makes it difficult for manufacturers to work with it. On the other hand, soft wood like pine or cedar is easier to work with. But they are not as durable as hard wood.
It is very rare to find a type of hard wood that is durable and easy to work with. Teak just happens to be one such example. It is a straight grained wood, which is easy to work with compared to other types of hard wood. On top of that, it has natural qualities that make it an ideal candidate as a building material.
For instance, most types of wood tend to rot due to the moisture in the environment. But teak has got a high level of oils naturally. The oils prevents moisture from entering and damaging the interior of the wood. The oils also help to keep out unwanted insects as well as dirt and grime. In other words, the oils act as a natural protective covering for the wood. Because of the oils, teak furniture is very durable.
Unfortunately, teak is not available in all parts of the world. Mostly, they come from countries such as Indonesia, Thailand or Burma. Often, you find teak being used in different types of ambitious projects such as temples, large boats, etc. Craftsmen find the wood easy enough to work with, and it is not uncommon to find teak with intricate patterns on them.
Initially, teak comes in a bright honey shade. After just one or two years, the color turns to silvery, and stays that way forever. It becomes the symbol for strength and durability.
Not all teak furniture comes with complex designs and patterns though. Teak, by nature, is a very solid and durable material. Strong, solid furniture can be easily made from teak. Even without complicated designs, teak furniture still stands out among other types of wood furniture.
If you prefer a simple and elegant look, you can always choose to buy basic teak furniture. No frills, and no unnecessary bells and whistles. Just practical, good old fashion furniture.
