For so many people with a speeding ticket, there has generally been just

TWO OPTIONS available: either hire an expensive lawyer; or pay the fine.

At court you need a good offense. Traffic court is not the place to

prove your innocence.

The court will listen to a lawyer. If you knew what a lawyer would say,

the court would listen to you too.

cruise control you are varying your speed constantly. Bombarded with

Most of us ignore the speed limit; and the speedometer. We go with the

flow of traffic. We save cruise control for those long trips. With so

many thoughts and sounds and sights to contend with, we are mostly

oblivious to our traveling speed.

Obeying the speed limit is a good thing; but how often do you think

about how fast you are going? Mostly your thoughts are on the past, or

future; or you are dealing with worries, concerns, or anxieties. There

are many things striving for your attention. The court system benefits

from you being preoccupied. You can beat the system's carefully planned

trap. THERE IS HELP!

We feel safe in a crowd; for we feel that we will not be singled out

- as long as we blend; for there is ?safety in numbers?. This thinking

carries on to our place in traffic. We loosen our attention on our speed

because we feel protected. With all of us doing the same thing, what are

the chances of me being caught? But, the officer has to pick someone. He

aims that speed device at whoever; and you are the one for the moment.

A speeding ticket, with its fine can be very discouraging. They can be a

punishment too hard to bear. Does the magnitude of the fine match the

crime? Like a trapped animal you want to strike back; but at who, and

how? When you can't retaliate you can feel like less of a person; like a

helpless victim. You might say to yourself "Why me; others were doing

the same thing?"; or ?I made a mistake. No one is perfect?.

The law officers have a field day at our expense. They watch us with

high tech equipment. A speeding ticket is a great source of revenue to

both the local government, and the insurance companies (through a raised

insurance rate). Redirect the energy of your anger. THERE IS HELP!

When caught we tend to cast the blame on someone, or something else;

either on the officer; other drivers; or on the person, or thing that we

were deep in thought about. No one likes to admit their guilt. You are

caught with no where to go. You feel helpless, and that makes you mad.

Now, with the angry, confused, and blaming thoughts; along with the

feeling of helplessness; what are you to do? If you pay the fine, the

moving violation points come into effect, and your insurance rate goes

up. You can try delaying the trial date, but they will be patiently

waiting for you. It is you versus high tech; the old battle of man

versus machine. It is you versus they; and they have become very good at

this. Emotional fits, and angry thoughts will work against you. But you

can be calm with legal knowledge!

For lack of knowledge we can perish; but with it we can maintain our

rights; and prevail.

A speeding ticket, and its fine gets your full attention. Your money

is tight. You feel caught as in a vice. "I have no way out but to pay

this fine!" Is that so?

There is a legal way out. Can that be? YES!!!

No one likes traffic court; for there they are in complete control. You

are guilty walking in; and they don't want to hear any of your excuses.

You are here for one thing only: to pay that fine.

Would you like to regain your self-respect? Would you like to be able to

speak up and be heard? Would you like to see them squirm? Then learn a
