Snoring Causes

    View:
Snoring is the production of unpleasing noises during sleeping. Obstruction occurs in the passageways at the back of the mouth and the nose, ultimately not allowing the proper flow of air during breathing. The obstruction occurs in the collapsible part of the airway where the upper throat and the tongue meet the uvula and the soft plate. These parts of the airway come in contact with each other and cause the vibrations known as snoring.

Snoring can sometimes be very serious. Snoring can result in many complications, including high blood pressure and complications for women during pregnancy. It also causes sleeplessness and discomfort. When snoring is severe it can result in sleep apnea.

There are various different causes of snoring. Most of them involve some way that the airway gets obstructed. The muscles of the tongue and soft palate tends to relax during sleep. This finally results in the airway collapsing. Snoring is also affected by sleeping position. When laying on the back the tongue falls towards the throat, resulting in the blockage of the airway, resulting in snoring.

Snoring can occur in both men and women, but is more common in men. There can also be snoring in all different ages. In children the primary cause is enlargement of tonsils and adenoids. In old age it is due to the muscles weakening.

Snoring may be caused by a variety of structural problems including narrow jaws, a large tongue, enlarged tonsils and adenoids, a thick soft palate, crooked septum or small nasal cavity. These problems can cause the tongue and soft palate to block the airway during sleep, causing snoring.

Snoring can also be caused by environmental and behavioral factors, which affect the individual externally, however these are controllable. These factors include allergies, consumption of alcohol, sedatives, and excessive and regular smoking, disruption of the normal sleep patterns, decrease in the lung capacities and irregular lifestyle.

However, there are remedies available, dental implants are available, drug and natural remedies are also available.

When Snoring is particularly loud and breathing is obstructed completely, it is known as sleep Apnea. These episodes can lasted as long as ten seconds and these can occur more than seven times per hour. Those affected by apnea experience such episodes from 30 to 300 times a night. These episodes are very dangerous for the individual, creating various health problems including elevated blood pressures and even enlargement of heart.

Snoring causes

Definition of snoring:

Snoring is the production of noises during sleeping, caused by obstruction of free flow in the airway. The obstruction is caused in the passage at the back of the mouth and nose, which ultimately does not allow the proper flow of the air during breathing. The area where the flow of the air is not proper is the collapsible part of the airway where the upper throat and the tongue meet the uvula and the soft plate. Due to snoring these structures strike against each other, causing vibrations.

Snoring cannot be taken lightly, as it can be a very serious problem. Snoring negatively impacts health in many pays, particularly during pregnancy. And of course it also impacts the quality of sleep.

Causes of snoring:

Structural causes: Snoring may be caused due to narrow jaw, enlarged tonsils and adenoids, thick soft palate, large tongue, enlarged tonsils, crooked septum and small nasals. Snoring is caused because the tongue and the upper throat meet the uvula and the soft palate, blocking the passage of air. Some of these problems are best treated by surgery.

Outside causes: Controllable factors which can vary in each individual include allergies, consumption of alcohol or sedatives, and excessive exposure to cigarette smoke, disruption of the normal sleep and lifestyle patterns and decrease in the lung capacity. For these there are remedies including dental implants, sleep aids, and drug and natural remedies.

Age and other factors: Age is also one of the factors that contributes to snoring. In old age the muscles weaken, resulting in more snoring.

Muscle tone of the tongue: The muscles of the tongue and the soft palate reduces during sleep. These muscles become more relaxed, which finally results in collapse. This is the major cause of snoring. The soft tissues like the tonsils and tongue can vibrate during sleep and cause sound. Snoring is also affected by sleep position of sleeping. When you're laying on your back your tongue falls towards the throat, blocking airway. This contributes to snoring.

Sleep Apnea: When snoring is loud and frequent, frequent episodes, it can be sleep apnea, which totally obstructs breathing. This can be a serious problem and cause serious problems with sleep and health, including heart problems. Some of the recorded episodes have lasted up to ten seconds, and more than seven times per hour. The people who are affected with apnea can have these episodes 30 to 300 times per night.

Snoring: causes

Snoring is defined as unpleasing noises a sleeper makes at night time, often due to obstruction of the free flow of the air passages as the sleeper breathes. The back of the mouth and nose are usually where the obstruction occurs, ultimately not allowing the proper amount of air during breathing.

The area where the flow of the air is not proper is the collapsible part of the airway where the upper throat and the tongue meet the uvula and the soft plate. Due to snoring these structures strike against each other, which results in vibrations.

Snoring cannot be taken lightly as it is a very serious problem. Snoring causes many health disorders, it affects the women during pregnancy, and it also causes sleepless nights and discomfort. Snoring also causes problems like sleep apnea.

Some of the causes of snoring are are structural. They include narrow jaws, having large tongues, enlarged tonsils and adenoids and a crooked septum, small nasals or a thick soft palate, crooked septum or even small nasal. Or it is caused by a blockage of air by the upper throat and tongue meeting the uvula and the soft palate.

Sometimes, however, there are factors external to the individual which are environmental or controllable. It can include allergies, consumption of alcohol or sedatives, excessive smoking, disruption of sleep habits and lifestyle. Many of these can involve behavioral remedies, dental implants or drug or natural remedies. Often when snoring is very loud and accompanied by frequent episodes of waking or total obstruction of breathing, this is known instead as sleep apnea. These episodes can occur more than seven times per hour and last tor ten seconds. These episodes can happen nearly every night of the year. Sleep apnea is very serious, threatening individuals' health, blood pressure, heart and of course sleep quality, obstruction of blockage of the airway leads snoring, but also sleeping position will either cause snoring or make whatever problem that exists due to other factors practically worse. Age contributes to snoring; old age weakens muscles, resulting in more snoring.
