Can you get a top ten ranking in google by just writing articles?



Well, if personal experience counts, I have many pages and several web sites with top ten rankings in google and basically the only thing I do is write and submit articles ? basically article marketing.

There is one other thing I do, but I do it in limited quantity (because it is boring to me), and that is web directory submissions.

But the bulk of the work that I do to get my web pages into top ten google rankings is by writing articles and submitting them to the various online article directories (very likely similar to the one on which you are reading this article).

In the past, they dictated the populous what we should be interested in. But the rise in consumer media has changed all that. Nowadays, people just want information about the issues that are of most interest to them. And since most people now turn to the Internet for answers, search engines now rule. What is the first thing you do when you want information? You go to your computer and type in your subject in a search engine such as Google, Yahoo or MSN. The goal of article marketing is to get people to click on one of your articles, and that article is hosted on your website of course! Once they are already on your site, your chances of engaging them with the rest of what you have to offer (and ultimately becoming a customer) go up exponentially. The more you understand the logic behind search engine ranking systems, the more you can tweak your articles to garner the coveted higher positions in search results.

The idea is that as you write these articles and have them published, each one gives you a link back to your web site and each one of the links that come back to your web site give you more ?clout? or popularity with google ? and they reward you by giving you high rankings for your specially ? optimized web pages.

One of the big keys with this is that you need to coordinate your web page, article, and keyword anchor text in your article so that all three are optimized for the same keyword. For example, if my keyword is ?article marketing? then I will write an article that is highly optimized for ?article marketing?, then I will highly optimize the title for ?article marketing? and then I will create a web page that is highly optimized for ?article marketing?.

And of course I will use the word ?article marketing? as my keyword anchor text for the link going back to my web site.

So go ahead, start creating optimized web pages, and submitting optimized articles to the various online article directories, and watch your google rankings rise.
