Solar Panel Home Energy

    View:
Having free and clean energy in your home is possible with solar energy and wind energy. You can easily buy or make solar panels, or make a windmill to save money on your power bills and reduce your impact on the environment. The combination of both solar energy and wind energy is an ideal combination to make your house greener for less green. Whether you want to remove yourself from the power grid, or only add some additional juice to your electrical capabilities, you can easily install a solar and wind system that works for you.

It is easy to build a solar power system if you have the right materials and do a little research beforehand. First you have to make solar panels. You can do this by purchasing solar cells. Solar cells will be your biggest investment in your solar energy system. Once you acquire the solar cells, you can make complete solar panels by building a box for the cells and covering the outside of the solar panels with glass to help reflect the light. Solar cells are very fragile and should be handled with care. Since they are the source of energy for your solar power system, if you break them, you are reducing your ability to produce power. Additionally, they are made of glass and are very fragile, so use caution when handling your solar cells. Luckily, there are many kits available that can be set up to protect your solar panels, and keep them perfectly safe while you install them.

For wind power system, you can make a windmill or purchase a windmill. Building a windmill is not difficult and is extremely inexpensive when compared to building solar panels. But while building a wind energy system is less expensive, wind energy is less consistent. On average, depending upon where you live, you are likely to have more hours of sunshine than wind in a typical day. For many people, a combination of wind energy and solar energy make the optimal alternative energy system. This is the ideal setup, because with luck, you'll get wind when it's less sunny, and plenty of sun on those not so breezy afternoons.

When constructing a basic windmill in your home, the goal is to convert wind energy into mechanical energy so you can generate power. You may want to put your windmill as high up as possible, so you can maximize how much wind you get. A windmill basically needs to include the base, tower, wind blades and a gearbox that will facilitate the blade movement. Windmill blades can be made of light weight plastic or wood, making them more economical than solar panels. The blades need to be about a third to a quarter of the size of the base. So, if your base is four feet tall, your blades should be approximately one to two and a half feet tall.

Step by step instructions to help you build your windmill or solar power system are available.

Ultimately, solar power and wind power can help you reduce your electric bills by thousands of dollars, reduce your carbon footprint and give you a feeling of accomplishment that you built it all yourself. You can reduce your electricity costs by as much as 80 percent and invest in clean, renewable energy by building solar energy and wind energy into your home. What are you waiting for? Start today and you can begin saving money and making the planet cleaner right now. There is no better way to take care of your environment than through solar and wind energy systems.
