Friends and loved ones greeted Regine in full force at GMA 7's Sunday noontime show SOP, which she co-hosts with fellow performers Ogie Alcasid, Jaya Ramsey and Janno Gibbs. Former Miss Saigon Jamie Rivera, veteran singer Vernie Varga, sister and talent manager Cacai Velasquez- Mitra did a number with the Songbird as a tribute to her shining showbiz career. Regine even thrilled the SOP audience as she did a duet with her only erstwhile boyfriend and Gelli de Belen's husband, Ariel Rivera.



Regine was so emotional as she thanked everyone who has inspired and helped her achieve a successful two-decade showbiz career. Unknown to many, she performs for free for charity projects as her way of giving back the undying support of her fans and other important people.

Regine will perform on her anniversary concert on October 13 and 14 at the Araneta Coliseum, which will guest some of her showbiz' friends. Her anniversary coincides with the showing of Till I Met You, her reunion movie with Robin Padilla, the Badboy of Philippine Movies. The movie is a joint production of GMA Films and Viva Films and the second movie of Regine and Robin together. They did a previous movie together in 2000, wherein they garnered the 2000 Box Office King and Queen titles.

From being a champion in various amateur-singing contests to becoming a member of then Coca-Cola Starforce, Regine has conquered the four corners of the local and international performance arena, bagging major awards as a professional singer. To add up, she has also shown her acting prowess opposite some of the country's male idols, with the likes of Christopher de Leon, Richard Gomez and Ariel Rivera.

Aside from singing and acting, Regine is also glowing with the success of her three-year old show Pinoy Pop Superstar, also at GMA 7. She hosts the show every Saturday night, allowing young hopefuls to show their pop singing talent and someday become successful like Regine. Some of the show's finalists have received international singing awards from the 2006 World Championships of the Performing Arts in the USA and from the International Song Festival in Kazakhstan. First PPS Champion Jonalyn Viray and 1st runner-up Brennan Espartinez won various awards at the WCOPA. Whereas, PPS second year's 1st runner-up Aicelle Santos bagged one of two major awards in Kazakhstan. They will reunite anew with Regine at PPS, in recognition to their success after they had joined PPS.

Regine has also ventured into producing concerts and albums including her own concerts and the soundtrack album of Till I Met You. She and Ogie, together with sister Cacai and Raul Mitra (husband of Cacai) joined forces to form a recording company called Indimusic.

After twenty years of ups and down as a showbiz personality, Regine's beauty, talent and passion have remained flourishing like her career. Truly, she deserves to soar to higher points of success and become one of the modern day pillars of Philippine music.
