Like the DirectX drivers that often come with games to optimise the sound and video, having the latest versions is really important and this is even the case when your sound card is of the advanced nature, meaning that it has stuff like THX sound or environmental audio that requires it to interface with games and make sure that they work means that you need to have the latest drivers in your CD. Never rely on the drivers that are provided to you in the box, because more often than not, these are the older drivers, and you might have to do some downloading to get the most out of them.

So one of the ways, and well, the easiest way that you can do this is that you are going to just have to go to the manufacturer's website and you are going to have to download it straight from there. Usually, it will be the case that the website has the latest drivers and the latest versions for you to download, so you do not really need to be looking elsewhere to do this. Once you have them, you will notice that most, if not all of your sound driver problems will go away, with just a single sound driver download.
