Are you one of those people who have been suckered into the concept of endless consuming? It can happen without your even realizing it. Ads hit you from every direction telling what you need to buy to be good-looking and successful. The "right" list usually includes the right car, the right neighborhood, the right clothes, even the right schools for your kids. Have you ever noticed that the list is endless? And there's those "easy" payments, so why not?
In our society consumerism has almost become a religion with heaven being that blessed day when we can relax because we have it all and are, therefore, OK. I suggest that you think again and on your own this time.
Those who have maxed out credit cards only to obtain new ones know that something is missing in the plan to "have it all". Peace, freedom, even individuality are often sacrificed to the need to keep up and hopefully surpass the norm. Working longer hours, getting more competitive jobs, pushing and stretching are ways to try to win the battle. But then there's that bigger house and hotter car, offering a rush, momentarily.
There is a way out but it involves reassessing priorities. It's usually a long, slow process to over-extend to the point of disaster. Likewise, there's a way out that can slowly take you in the opposite direction. It's called...less. Believe it or not, most of us can live quite comfortably in a smaller home and used, paid for, cars can get us where we want to go. Plain foods don't cost what prepared foods do, and a smaller, simpler wardrobe can still be attractive.
My kid's father was a carpenter. That meant lots of work in the late spring, summer and early fall. The other six months were pretty "iffy". Bad weather often prevailed, housing starts and sales slowed down and our income either stopped or was drastically reduced. The answer to this was to set up a standard of living that used half of the good-weather income and left the other half for the lean months. We did that and sailed blissfully through the tough times.
The same thing can be done when retiring. Moving into a park model trailer in a camping club might sound like a sacrifice. However, once you have looked inside a new unit and toured a well-appointed park, you may change your mind. Hot tubs, indoor, swimming pools, senior centers are all part of the camping club I belong to.
Why not rethink how your life is playing out and factor in some peace and satisfaction? Why not lower your standard of living and LIVE! Why not indeed?
Standard Of Living Definition
Through the careful development of Houston new homes, neighborhoods, also known as planned communities, have taken on an existence of their own, just enough removed from the downfalls of human society. These homes are models of exemplary living, and give each individual family a private place to live untouched by the majority of the criminal element that makes life so dangerous.
From its inception, there has been controversy around these communities, some even remarking that these are nothing more than cults living in some of the finer of Houston new homes. However, this uneducated approach is far from reality. People of various backgrounds, religious affiliation, and other personal choices are welcomed into these communities. It is simply a community dedicated to raising the standard of living and preventing the crime that none of us want to live with in the first place.
The outlandish remarks that planned communities have of Houston new homes are nothing short of laughable. After all, we all choose our communities based on what we can afford and how safe it is. It is an unfortunate fact of life that those who can afford to live in low crime areas do so. By building some of the finest homes behind a gate to keep the residents safe, the state of Texas initially received ample criticism. Now it is receiving accolades and other community projects throughout the country are trying to emulate Houston's success.
Houston new homes are more than just beautiful to look at. They are truly functional pieces of artwork, each crafted in its own unique vision. There is nothing more unappealing than looking at cookie cutter homes with cookie cutter lawns. Our nation is founded on a greater sense of creativity than that. Naturally, it is cheaper to design one home and create it over and over again than to give each individual home its own personality and character.
However, Houston new homes builders managed to give these homes style and class while bringing up the current standard of living. Most often, luxury is more than simply what meets the eye on the outside. Luxury is really defined by how we choose to live our lives. It is partially the quality of our home and partially the quality of our lifestyle.
It can be tremendously uncomfortable to own a very fine home in the middle of a neighborhood that is not known for its stability or its safety. This is not living in luxury, but rather living in fear of losing the luxurious property you own. The homes imply that the entire lifestyle is cemented in luxury rather than just a nice home built where there was a little available space.
Houston new homes are striving to live up to a standard set many years ago when the first planned community was introduced. Despite all the negative yapping by those truly unaffected by these homes, people came to purchase in a wave of relief. The supply has yet to catch up with the demand.
Luxury home builders are giving people more than just a place to live, but a true sense of community and pride as well as the opportunity to live in relative safety. On top of that, they managed to do all this in the heart of some of the best school districts around, and if there was ever a make it or break it deal buster, it would be community living in an under par school district.
This certainly didn't happen by accident. These school districts have a long history of outperforming a large percentage of the country both in standardized testing and special education programs. There will always be critics of those who have versus those who don't. This is just a fact of life that we all must contend with from time to time.
Houston new home builders have been able to produce what everyone wants, luxury living in a simple and ethical community where family values and concern for the wellbeing of all citizens is paramount. Quite frankly, envy was the biggest motivator behind the criticism. Right underneath the surface of fear, was the knowledge that these communities were a strong contender in the race against crime.
