The Miss World 2007 will be held in the Crown of Beauty Theater, in Sanya, China on December 1, 2007.. The contestants will experience the thrills of China during this one month festival of beauty when they will visit some of the most famous and historical Chinese landmarks. The official signing ceremony will be on June 14.

Vietnam’s representative at this year’s Miss World, Dang Thi Minh Thu, is unconfident about her talent performance. Thu plans to introduce Vietnamese water puppetry, a unique folk art of Vietnam, but she is worried that her plan is too difficult due to bulky equipment and limited performance time of only three minutes.

The 20-year-old student said that she is ready for the pageant in China this December. “I will try my best to not regret when I return to Vietnam. I’m proud to represent Vietnam at Miss World and I know that’s a great responsibility,” she said.

Thu, the second runner-up of the Miss Vietnam Global 2007, is a student of the Hanoi-based Open University.

The 57th Miss World contest will take place in Sanya, China from December 1, drawing 120 contestants.

Miss World is the largest and most prestigious beauty pageant in the world. Last year Tatana Kucharova, 19, from the Czech Republic was crowned. Miss Vietnam Mai Phuong Thuy was among the top 17.
